had some crazy euro bloke at rc racing 3 weeks ago telling me all the shit was being caused by planet alignment and blah blah blah.
he reckoned that it was going to keep happening for a few more weeks and then settle down. maybe he was onto something.... maybe it was something he was on

Well news saying they probably won't get a Tsunami due to how deep the quake was.
Who knows, David Gemmel books, some of his novels based around how the world has fallen on it's axis, where there was land, it's now under water, where there was water, now desert.

I thought there was no tsunami warning. Reuben posted a link on facebook to some warning centre that had a update saying there was no current threat because it was too deep.

Yeah, apparently, said if it was like 30k's deep then would be risk of Tsunami.

Sounds like a plan, or be like the guy that they found wandering around the jetty when there was a cyclone warning on.

Are plate lines and fault lines different? Tennant creek has a few tremors and that is was inland.
Mr Mopar
Oct 25 2009, 10:22 AM
No they are the same.. however there are a number of different types..depending on whether one plate is sliding under another or against it..... Its not unusual for tremors to be felt a long way away from the epicentre. Have a look at how far away newcastle is from the pacific rim...they got one hell of a tremor around there in about 88 i think

those lines are the major fault lines on the edges of the tectonic plates.... there are shitloads of smaller faults in the earths surface... so i wouldnt be surprised if there is even a minor fault line much closer to darwin...
