Hey Guys,

Through I would make a thread to post my photos in, it looks to be a good way to get C/C as I have heaps to learn!

Preety basic kit for now...

Canon 350D
Standard Twin Lens kit
50mm f/1.8 II
60mm Macro
10-22mm Wide Angle

I plan on purchasing some more glass before i upgrade the camera but the new 7D is lookin pretty enticing!

I also created a Flicker account today and plan on using that as my main place to add photos in the future smile.gif

These first shots are from yesterday

I spent the afternoon at the MtCootha botanical gardens playing with the 60mm Macro and then headed down to the train lines at Pinkenba after sunset.

More to come in the future,
I might update this thead with a few from a recent trip to NZ tomorrow

Enjoy!
Dan

Would a 7D take your 10-22? Anywho - fav shots are of the train.
dano4127
Thanks man, they may be a bit cliche but they turned out quite well and yes mate the 7D takes the 10-22mm thumbsup.gif

there is a short discussion here about it: http://www.flickr.com/groups/efs1022/discu...57622438356262/

I've got no idea about photography but The N.Z shots are bloody awesome.

I must say, I also like the Train shots. Especially the fact that you can see the sunset AND the stars in the sky. Very cool indeed. I only wish i could provide some more professional sounding feeback!

Words like 'Cool' and 'Awesome' just don't seem appropriate. thumbsup.gif

sweet thanks guys!

Couple of extras from NZ:

I demand to see the hobbits...where they at? the pic below the one with the girl (should get her to do some facial pics for ya or something) is that vapor mist rising from the ice down the bottom? I really like that one.

I know it was full on LOTR!!! It was just this awesome fog that was sitting over a river I wish I had more pics there but my friends were starting to get cheezed with me wanting to stop for photos every couple of kilometers!!!

Thats my girlfriend in the pic, I have been meaning to do some proper pics for aaaages but im slack I feel portraiture is my biggest downfall but i guess if you dont practice you will never get any better!!!

Thanks guys starting to get a bit more excited about gettin out there to take some shots, Im thinking i might try some sunrise ones on friday morning as I have the day off!
VTR
In first post some excellent macro shots and the landscape images equally well composed and creative. smile.gif
dano4127
A sunrise and sunset snapped at my apartment in Kangaroo Point

Both have a few errors in the stiching I should have taken more care when taking the photos!

dano4127
I snapped this lastnight from the cliffs its only a 3 shot pano...

Can anyone recomend a perfect focal legnth for taking panoramas to stich together? I took a few sequences with the 10-22mm at 10mm and there is too much distortion to do a good stich

As always, larger sizes available in my flickr photostream smile.gif

1) Take atleast two images - say left side and a right side
2) Photoshop - Merge them

done smile.gif

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Here are some shots from a friends halloween party last night, Shot most of the night on what I have now realised was too high of an ISO (800) I remember thinking I will give this a try but go lowe later, but there was an insane ammount of drinkin going on and I wasnt really thinking about what i was doin haha

The house had smoke machines constantly running and with fark all light made it a challenge

Hoon
Did well for smokey areas...I think it adds some character to the shots. Like the 1st one - the gritty in ISO800 kinda makes it look like someone running away took the shot in a hurry - maybe add a little "blurry" to the shot would really set it off I reckon. I don't get number 2 - looks like someone is about to do a HAR-YO-KEN or how ever you spell it tongue.gif Are those BONGS in the last 2??? If so...shit - good party.
dano4127
thanks man, the number two is me! RC5 remote in action haha

last pics are of our hookah's so yes bongs but only for smoking flavored shisha tobacco - honest hsdance.gif

SICK PICS DUDE

For me, with portraits try and use a bif more dof. If you look at 3rd last photo, the face is sharp, but by the time it gets to the ear not as much sharpness.

Your composition is pretty darn good.

I should come back to Boost more often and check out pics.
