Another S3 H190 diff with a CIG locker. It's your only option. R31 needs too much modification to fit, most shops won't touch it, and you're still stuck with a useless factory LSD.

Been there, tried that.

Cheers, Greg.

Make sure you weld it too. I busted the single spinner centre in mine yesterday

they run a trailing arm setup yeh?? so wats so hard about say taking a r31 diff and getting the mounts welded onto it? its not the biggest of jobs for someone with half a brain, that many toyotas/rx7's run diffs with this done to them...or is it too long and needs to be shorten'd?
boost_junkie12
ok cool... wat about a s13 diff.... i know they will hold it.... but will it mod to fit?

Lazy, a R31 diff needs shortening. It has been looked into before, and locking a S3 diff is much easier and cheaper. Or be like me and have a H190 LSD imported for $1500. And as for the cost of it Lazy, a lot more people sling other diffs under Toyota's than they do for 910's. Supply and demand. Less demand for 910 diff swaps, less people do them, those that do charge more for it.

A S13 is IRS, 910 Bluebird is live axle. I believe the S13 gear can be fitted because the Aussie 910's still have the mounting points from the Jap IRS 910's in the floor pan. It's a big job though.

Cheers, Greg.

yeh right, well they run r31 diffs in ae86s without shortening them, just limits you to 8j wheels and nothing wider unless you flare guards. Id have thought bluebird wheelbase would have been wider.

At the end if the day a jig is a jig, from scratch ive seen ppl charge $700 to weld on mounts, id have thought r31, spool and converted would cum in sub $1500 and stronger with better gearing options? Running an sr20 or similar im sure the extra track would go astray anyways

The other problem is the R31 diff is offset, with long and short axles, 910 H190 diff is central, with equal length axles.

And the 910 runs 4.11 gearing (from memory), which is spot on. Well, it was in my CA18DET TRX.
wooley
also lazy they run hilux diff's in rx7 (up to s3) which are 4gs to get done
Dirty1
also... h190 diffs are stronger than the 28 spline r31 diffs... h190 axles are 29 spline from memory...

Lol wtf?? I know of a sprinter which is running one with gtr brakes and a lokka and was sub 1k frm memory lol

tailshaft offset explains alot of the problem tho

my t series with lsd, twin caliper rear, solid pinion spacer, 4.778 and billet axles wont even go close to that 4k figure and rated at 400hp and lighter than standard oem bits

The H190 is a strong diff, the spider gears in it are woeful! Weld up the spider gears and you'll be right1 wink.gif
