Big difference between patina styled rods/customs than half assed minitrucks.

Whilst I respect the work gone into the big $$$ show builds, average joes is a slap together job, much like most imports at the moment.

Methods one above does look quite smart though.

and these are the majority of flat brimmers which everyone base there opinions off.

Its all horses for courses. There is just as many unsafe rat rods/customs as there would be minitrucks. Alot of the rat rods ive seen i would not even consider safe, just accidents waiting to happen.

Engineering for Customs/rods is totally different than a normal street car though.

There is a lot more leniency in the laws for starters and what might be considered unsafe on a load bearing vehicle with weight above 1000kg, might be a different story on a 600kg non load bearing rod. Look up the National guidelines for the construction of street rods in Australia, you will be surprised with exactly what you can get away with in a rod versus a street car here in Australia.
