Any feedback on this cam. I am just a beginner. Would it be easy to use?

Sony Alpha DSLR-A900 Full Frame Digital SLR

Any feed back is welcomed.

Also what would you recommend instead.

I think buying that would be like buying a Ferrari for a learner-driver. It's Sony's top of the range DSLR ergo completely over the top, unless you have money to burn & can easily grasp theories and principles then you wouldn't need auto modes etc.. that the consumer models have.

I'd say something mid-range would be better, then if you still have money to burn go the whole-hog. $3-4000 though.. Canon 5D-mkII FTW or Nikon D700. Remember with pro and semi-pro body's you don't get a built-in flash (flash guns start at around $300-400 for non-elcheapo's) and you still need to buy glass & memory etc.. etc..

I have a sony A350, nothing compaired to the A900. Its a great camera but the light handling is pathetic, it's always on iso 100 otherwise i get noise and it seems to be the way with most the sony cameras. If i were you and had a fair bit to burn i'd go a 50D or a 7D both great cameras, or as Nick said just go a 5D MK II.

Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR with 28-135mm IS Lens....

What about this one^^^^^^^^^? Better for someone who just wants to take pics without the hassle of changing lenses. I want auto focus etc etc..

Just an easy camera to use.

Yeah 50D is a nice camera, 28-135 lens has IS and USM which is very handy, however on a crop 28mm is awfully constrictive (50D is a 1.62x crop like all the X0D's before it & the XX0D's, so 28 therefor is really 45mm but it does have a nice long end). Something like the 17-85 would be a better compromise because the wide end is MUCH wider than the 28-135 plus it is optically superior.

read that.

Here's a 17-85 for a decent price! http://www.brisbanephotography.com/phpbb/v...=15&t=12178

Beginner definitely better off starting further down the line than that model, get a Canon 20D or a Nikon D300 or D700 (as someone else suggested).

Then work your way through the basics and onto the intermediate stuff before going to something more Pro based.

Remember also that a good photographer can take excellent pics with a relatively decent camera and glass as easily as they could with the top of the line model, just that the tope of the line model would allow them more room for artistic license.
