We bought a HP DV7-1212TX and its a bucket of shit.

Based on that comprehensive survey, I wouldnt buy another HP. The screen is horrible, and the buttons etc are a pain in the arse to find drivers for (at least, they were for XP and Vista. Win7 worked straight out of the box tongue.gif).

What I WOULD buy again is an Asus. Our old Asus is still plugging away, despite pretty much every possible section of bodywork thats possible to crack, has been cracked. I blame the countless drops off the coffee table. Considering how old it is, and how many times its been dropped, and the fact that its spent almost its entire life turned on since it was bought.... its working fantastically.

Eh, my HP DV5000 is holding up quite well. Spilled some hot noddle juice in at and kicked the screen, still going strong besides the 5 minute battery life.
