I think to simplify the classified we could put in a few more categorys for example

Personalized plates

More suggestions?

Also having the search engine more accurate, I think
having your search engine only defined to the topic post its self,
rather than all the comments as well.

All i would like is more exposure to all items on boost, the hard to get to.
Narrowing down search engine, and categorys will do this.

I know it would make it more efficient.

What do you think boosters?

i agree completely, its so annoying trying to decifer between them all

how about

MOTORCYCLES/

BOATS/

CARS/

etc section, cause its hard with just everything mixed together for people searching for a certain thing

Exactly, Right.

Also I think deleting a thread after 1 or 2 months sounds fair?
It should simply be automatic.

LKILogan
Anyone feel the same? Or anything to add.
Belgarion
Actually I will.

The classifieds section works well as it is. If you cannot word your advertisement with the pertinent information (as per section rules) then obviously your ad will not show up when a search is performed.

The forum search function is quite powerful and if time is taken to learn how to use it properly, it will make searching for an item that you may be after quite easy.

Deleting threads after 1 - 2 months is an ill advised practice as some items do not sell immediately and it can take time for a buyer to come along. Rules are in place to ensure that bumping of topics is fair to all users.

The service is free, you are not charged in any way to use it and it takes quite a lot of effort to maintain a fair and easy to use environment.

If you wish to advertise your number plates for sale, there are many other avenues for you to do so including ppq.com.

Wheels and tyres

A section for each of your items listed. Once again, it is a free service and is monitored and controlled on our own free time. Every effort is made to ensure a fair go is received by all, but you are talking about one of the largest free trading sections.

Pushing your luck are we?

Belgarion has explained it quite well.

There is no need to have a subsection for every type of part listed for sale here on Boost, if you are looking for a particular item, use the search function, that is what it is there for.

Motorcycles/Bikes For Sale has been implemented but at this stage, that is where it will remain.

We have enough issues with users putting items in the right place as it is.

I'd just like to add this in regards to the search function

there is an advanced search tool here

this will allow the user to search in depth for anything

eg, want to find a cressida?

you can type cress* into the search bar, this will search for cressy, cressida, cressiad, cressgsksfdoksdf etc, all words the hav 'cress' in it

you can also limit the search to titles only and you can limit the dates too.

hope this helps, everything you need is here, you just gotta know how to use it

another point, having so many sections on here will confuse the 60% of users that hav no brain. we hav one for sale section, yet for sale ads always end up in random sections like events/cruises & insane car styling & even off topic. so imagine the havoc if there was different sections.

this also brings out another point. whats stopping people posting ads in wrong sections. "is my mildly modified r33/VN a street car or performance car or should i put it in imports" *boom* head explodes. too many options will make people hav to think about what theyre are doing, which is a bad thing as highlighted by my argument above

tho, one point i would like to raise, users should hav to right to delete there threads in the forsale section so sold items can be deleted

OR

at the very least, users can edit the topic title to say SOLD so mods can delete it

Bad idea IMO.

Searching through a seller's old threads can paint a good picture of how good/bad, genuine/dodgy they are.
LKILogan
Thanks guys all good input, I agree with everyone.

Option for deleting your own thread seems alot more simple.
And easier for mods.
