power leads look like normal audo barn crap
ill change how its grounded

Yeah I would double check all the wiring but it sounds like your sub is trying to draw too much power from the amp. Try running the gain and volume lower and check if th problem persists.

are you running 8 gage?
and what is your amp earthed to?

yeah your cables and earthing are the heart of your sound system there the most important shitty wiring and brands short and or overheat seen many cars alight because of bad wiring
