heres mine.

the white sedan was my first car

the ute is my new daily driver

and the green hq only leaves the shed a couple of times a month

Here is my dad's, 1982 WB one tonner, 308, T350 auto, chromed and re-centered rally wheels, new interior, new paint.
Will be on the roads soon enough, just need a few things and she'll be done

The Green HZ Premier is my old girl. You wouldnt recognise her now - she's in pieces at the moment waiting restoration.
The Black HJ Kingswood is my current driver (daily soon when she gets converted to lpg).
The Bronze HJ Premier is my latest project and the last pic shows the new powerplant in pieces waiting to be completed and installed.

My '75 HJ Sedan. Been driving it daily for two years now. Hoping to pull it off the road when my Ford Model A Roadster is done so i can fix up some rust repairs, get it repainted and drop in a new motor.



Don't have the tape player in there anymore, got over AM radio after like the first week..

Oh, yeah it is a small world. I know most of the people around Shailer Park / Cornubia who have old cars, i guess when you drive one so often people start talking to you at servos and things, and after a while you meet others who drive em regulaly as well.

It seems like around here its a pretty small niche of people.

Ive seen a few fluro green bikes around. Never actually seen that Camaro, only the yellow one.

UcTozza78's parents, us and a few other people are trying to start up a sorta muchies style meet every friday down at loganlea where the red rooster/KFC (i dont know which one) is. every friday night.
we go down maybe once a month.

all my school friends are building cars which will be done in a few years time, so that'll be good.

other than that, not many other people we know as such, but im sure if you advertised in advance (a month or so) you should get a good turnout.

Wanted too do this heaps bad, but alas had my liscence 3 days and lost it for 6 months haha... Deadsled, what motor setup you running ?? 202/186 - What carby ect ??

I'm running a fairly stock 202. Its a rebuilt "Gem" motor from back in the day. I'm assuming the original or 2nd owner (who had the car for around 25 years give or take a few months) had the swap done.

Carby wise, was running the original single barrel stromberg but it shit itself and instead of rebuilding it at the time i went to the wreckers and picked up another single barrel stromberg off a VB i think it was Commodore. Pretty similar carby, just a few things are different but still adapted to the original manifold with the throttle linkage and choke hooking up real easy.

Other mods are just extractors with stock exhaust (minus the pea shooter on the end haha), electronic distributor and coil, a cut up original air filter for a bit more air flow and cut all the pvc hoses.

I found it was overheating pretty badly in summer, after cutting the hoses and readjusting the timing it ran like a charm. I currently have to redo the timing a bit because the engine pings all the fucking time.

In short, i hate red motors. Gutless sacks of shit imo.

so is there anyone that actually has a licence thats keen for a convoy cruise of hq-wbs

as before maybe do an invite sorta thing, plan out where ur gunna go and whose in on going.
i reckon an old school cruise would be tops but i dont know if i could go
dads never out in the camaro anymore.
still that would be a great idea and would get a good turnout of cars

people say that 186s are tougher but ive never broken a 202.but then again ive only ever had stock motors.parts are readily availiable for both motors.i dont think that 1 motor is better than the other.it all comes down to personal choice.some prefer 202 others prefer 186s 179s etc so you really have to make the descion for yourself dude!!!i dont really have a fav.i just do with whatevers in the car at the time lol.and it happens to be 202s in both my cars and they both havnt missed a beat!!

friends have 186's, 173's, 179's and they all swear by them and they bag out the 202 saying that they break easy.
this HQ im most probably getting has forged gear in it so it say nothing is really goin to let go at any point.
at this stage just wanting to know everyones opinions of what is best.

ive seen 202'S in tonner's that were the original red motor with 600-700xxx+km's on them... Sure they were very fucking tired but they still ran haha.

...not too keen on the spit though - too many tossers and that brings out the cops.

Then again, cant really go too far at the moment since Black Betty has a BAD rear seal leak, and I havent had time to finish the new engine yet.

I've been wanting to go there for SO long. If when this cruise happens, my roadster is on the road.. i can't gaurentee i'll drive the Kingswood, although might get a mate to drive it instead. If not, i'll bring the HJ in all its really worn and road rashed paint glory.

Daily driver for three years, that real nice paintjob goes to shit pretty quickly.

i know exactly what you mean.4 years ago my car looked like it had just come out of the showroom.ut driving it everyday for 3 years quickly fucks that up.rust and shit paint:( oh yeah and shopping trollys and dumbass indian cab drivers haha

Tell me about it, had a gook and an indian both try and merge into me at Mt Gravatt within 5 minutes of each other one night. What a nightmare.

Also tire blowout on the highway has fucked up the front left fender, the wire in the tire spun around ripping the paint off, paint chips, rust under the windscreen and lower gaurds / doors starting to show..

When i can get something else on the road, i'm keen as to tidy it up again.

well thats part of the reason i bought my ute.so the qee can get work done on it when ive got the money.its got a bit of a bubble in the rear qtr.a few bubbles on the cowl and a few in the back right door. that blowout doesnt seem like it was much fun lol.yeah its amazing how quickly everything turns to shit when you drive it everyday

Yeah mate, the blowout didn't really bother me except that having three GTS wheels and an ugly stocker is a little bit embarrissing, until a mate pointed out the gaurd. Then i was pretty annoyed at first but then i thought "Not like theres fuckin much i can do about this.. may as well laugh about it".

Thats pretty much the reason i'm painting my Roadster in satin paint, no care for bodywork or anything like that. If i'm gona drive somethin daily, i'm not putting nice paint on it.

Plus, Satin paint on a Model A Roadster rules. You can take the windscreen and windscreen posts off with a few bolts, take the seat out, tape some newspaper over the entire interior (not much..) take the taillights out and respray the whole body, leaving the firewall and interior black with a new outside colour.
