Anyone used one of these clarion 8" compact subs? I know this is a 6.5" one but a repco near me has the 8" version in old stock.

I'm just looking to put a small sub into my single cab ute and wondering if this is an alright way to go about doing it. Got 6.5" clarions in the doors and just looking for some more bass. Heard the 10" slim clarion subs go pretty hard in a ute but then I have to buy and amp ect.

Am I better off biting the bullet and just make the box for a slim 10" and stick it behind one seat and the amp under another?

depends on what you want. if you are looking for bass fill then they work well. if you are looking for smack ya head in bass - nup.

they dont go to bad but if you have good speakers then there isnt much point gettin an 8 inch sub.
i had 1 in my car and my speakers went just as hard so i had to get a 10 inch sub instead.
