a friend of mine tried this and wasnt allowed to register it, but in sayin that i have seen them done use the v8 xd front suspension with xe powersteering, the xe had the better power steering boxes,
Then it's quite obvious both you and your friend have no idea.
OT: Biggest calculable cui is 358cui. Dependant on your HP output, I've had my 351C powered TF cortina on the road since Dec 2007 and was a feature car in Street Fords Issue # 45.
There is no room for any decent headers in TE/TF without going to fender wall headers. There's also no point running an engine plate for headers, However you can still do this if you want. I used the CRS ( Castlemaine Rod Shop ) kit and redrilled the engine mounts to move the engine back 1" as the CRS kit has the engine a bit far forward. You just have to cut a bit of the seam lip that goes around the firewall to clear the passenger cylinder head, Doesn't need much I only did 2 cuts and bent the seam down and spot welded the seam where the cuts were.
If you run standard rocker covers you can leave the brake booster in it's factory location, You just need to change the master cylinder for an XB master cylinder Part # P6258A. The push rod will need to be shortened slightly not by much so you need to check so as you don't take it too far. I just used a 4" grinder with a flapper disc to gradually remove material to suit. The front springs in the TE/TF cortina are the same part # for falcon XA-XB. If you want 90/10 shocks, I had Pedders make me a set using HQ part # with mounting point to suit the cortina at the base.
You can see build pics here of the car and am happy to answer any ???
