Would anyone here be interested in a blow by blow build up on a holden 202 red 6

i have a mate i built a motor for about 3 years ago for a torana he had. he crashed the torana about a year after (about 5000km) so sold the shell and kept the motor.

he wants to sell the motor as its no use so we pulled it out of storage to give it a clean but mud wasps had built nests all through the head.

so i pulled it apart , gave everything a big clean and im just about to screw it all together,

Would anyone here be interested in seeing how a red motor is screwed together?

if so ill take pics and write up a story for you.

just post if you are.

Cheers

(at the end of all this the motor will go up for sale.)

how much do you want for the motor, and whats done to it?
Cazarak
im doing the build up over the next few weekends as time is tight.

motor wise,

its a red 202 with 40thou bore using acl pistons, crane cam (35666) with new lifters, i have a set of straight cut crane cam gears here , im not sure i im going to use then though. King 10thou main and conrod bearings (new), new ACL piston rings,

it's quite a new build with about 5000km on it. so it only needed a really light hone.

Putting a kit through the oil pump. just in case.

head is a yella terra stage 3, with YT valves and the centre pillar in the inlet removed and replaced with bronze insert..

the head will have new valve guide seals fitted and the valves will be lapped back it so i know its right. the head has double valve springs that are within 5% of each other.

new water pump, just incase

full acl race gasket kit.

i have either commodore or hq style sumps for it.

it has a set of twin side draft SU for it (rare twin manifold) but these might be sold seperatly depending on price. i personally bought these for my hg, they get around the big heater demister on hg hk ht holdens, so you can run a decent set of carbs still

i'll have detailed photos of whats in it and recipts of eveything to go into it this time around.

he said he would be happy with around $1500, this was around a $4000 build first time around.

anyhow, ill update the post as we go.....

i also have around 6 red, blue and black 202 / 3.3 motors on the go at the moment from stockies to a reaaly tuff red with a blue head with major work on it. full bronze guides, nice port job, hardened seats..

im also have a stock blue 3.3 i have cleaned up, just looking for a set of pistons to send it away for a rebore, will basically be a new motor. around the $1000 mark, but will have about $800 in parts. im having a big clean up and getting out of all my old shit to concentrate on a couple of car builds
