Hi all, trying to install a headunit in my mates BMW 320i E36.

When i was a kid I recall an audio guy installing an aftermarket headunit in our old BMW and I remember he stuck this pin handle like things in the holes on the side of the radio, then pulling it out.

But I am unsure as to how to remove it?

I made those handle pin devices out of a wire hanger, but not sure what to do from here, tried everything, but I do not want to break anything.

Any ideas? I'll post pics soon.

cheers

hey mate, try putting the pins in all 4 holes into the headunit. than grab the headunit by the cassette holder and try pulling it out a little bit, this will lock the pins into place, than remove the pins and remove the headunit all togather. because what happens is when u put the pins in the "screws" release and the pin "replaces" the screw so really u havent done anything but when u move the headunit sort of out of lace the pin will act as a screw and hold the headunit in so remove the pins. should come out very easy.

have done a dozen of instals in e36 bmws aha. piece of cake
