Try another VGA cable (one connecting monitor to PC) and if that fixes it, then it's a faulty cable which is quite common.

If not, maybe your video card isn't seated properly.

If its a CRT monitor, one of the tubes could have blown. They make up the pretties with red, green and blue.

Is the screen turns to blue and a list of codes come up while restarting?

If yes then your system is Blue Screen of Death patient dude, take your XP or MAc or whatever you use and try to repair the stuff.

You may be better off just buying a new monitor. You can pick up LCD monitors pretty cheap.

Agreed with above, LCD is cheap(er than fixing, most likely) and looks far better then CRT for pretty much every application.

Course, if youre doing graphics work that requires very specific colour matching then CRT is going to be better, but you'll also be spending the equivelent of about 8 x LCD screens on it tongue.gif
