Dodgy NT news is suggesting today that some woman slammed on the brakes in Traffic and got rearended big time. They seem to suggest that the light turned orange and she panicked.

I've seen this shit happen. I'm always looking out for dipshits who are in front of me when approaching redlight cameras. We are going to see more of these. provoke.gif
taffywing
i came close to rear ending a divvy van yesterday a-noon at amy johnson for the same reason, the poo-lice officer driving locked the brakes on an amber with me only 8 car lengths behind...

P.S....it is pronounced "No Truth" News
Zmit
*sigh*

the panic is due to the necessity to change habits....
its their original habits (that need to be changed) that is causing the panic...

fyi..... those solid lines approaching intersections are a good gauge as to whether you can make it through the lights or not thumbsup.gif

yeah i almost got rear ended half hour ago as i braked for the yellow at casuarina/ vanderlin drive and the wanker behind me though i was gonna go through the yellow so he didnt stop....

I have HUGE brakes, he had pissy standard ones

HUGE brakes in front stopping at yellow light + pissy little wanker brakes anticipating running the yellow possible red light = Me Fuming as i hear brakes lock up and squeal behind me and dickhead typical territorian driver shitting bricks as he anticipates running up the arse end of a big red Commodore

the people up here need to change habits hey.. i say bring the cameras on cos i wont get caught in one thats for sure
ScUd'EsS
I do appreciate the flashing warning lights at bp palms though, maybe they should be installed to avoid this. Cause yeah i've had a few hairy moments at the Parap ones but that was with people breaking on a solid green too scared it might turn orange.
Zmit
those are only for the road trains though if im not mistaken....
highly unlikely to be installed elsewhere...

actually it's all the fuckwits from southern states that need to pull their head in and learn a few simple road rules.
Fragga
really???
thats why u guys up here need ads on tv to teach u how to negotiate a round about or how to merge lol..
im from south aus have lived there my entire life up untill 5 months ago.
untill i came up here i thought the majority of sa drivers were shockin but majority of drivers up here make sa drivers look like saints.

i had some wanker in a landrover defeneder ridin my ass in stuart highway in the 70zone while i was doin like 75, with a bus next to me.
i couldnt see the wankers bonnet thats how close he was.
copious amounts of times ive seen people run red lights,
park where ever the fuck they want, cross 3 lanes of traffic with out indicating just the brake suddenly and turn right infront of another 3 lanes of traffic.
im not goin to get into a shit fight e-warrior battle over this but b4 u go sayin its the southern states that cause all the trouble. go for a drive around and see what the majority of joe public drive like up here.
ive driven around in ever state excludin wa and in my opinion average joe public (not sayin thats every1 on this forum as the majority of modified car owners atleast know how to merge, idicate and tackle a round about) darwin drivers r the worst in the country.

just my 2cents

Don't you think your comments are a tad rich given that your signature shows a car drifting in what is very obviously a suburban street. Driving badly and driving illegally are obviously two seperate issues, but both are problems of the same level. So if you effectively condone one, you cannot expect people to take you seriously when you comment on the other.

You forgot the P plate.
Zmit
i'm dizzy.....
Fragga
whether or not my sig has a car driftin on the street is not the matter at hand. and i never said i condone street driftin either.
but since uve brought it up.
ive not ever seen an innocent by stander/driver get hurt from street driftin mainly because it is generally done in back streets and industrial areas wen there is no one around.

yeah fair call ive done my fair share of stupid shit... and i know alot of people on here have done aswell.
you might want to take note that im not a p plater.
then i was. big deal. i got caught, i learnt from my mistake.

people driving erratically, cutting people off. speedin, drivin 20ks under the limit, not indicatin running read lights, failing to figure out a dual lane round about or a merge, cause far more accidents, injuries, deaths then a bunch of people street driftin ion an industrial area.

yeah ok fair call on the fact that i cant expect people to take my comment seriously, but as i said.. the majority of people on this and other forums are generally good drivers, they chose wen to do stupid things generally at a more appropriate place, or wen the right places isnt accessible they will go and find some quiet out of the way place.

either way. take it or leave it.
my opinion still stands, whether i condone street driftin or not is a different matter, for a different time.
Zmit
Danny.... leaving that in your sig is not helping your case.
"i learnt from my mistake"

yet you're still showing it off in your sig.
Fragga
removin it from my sig wont change anything.
but ill remove it.
its not there to show off.. i just think it was good photographic work by the guy that took it.

the learning from my mistake comment was refering to having not done it again since.

......hahaha

dont forget the 'Washing Your Hands' after using the crapper' ad.....ahahahahah welcome to Backwoods, NT.
sp33d
Nothing wrong with that Sig, its jsut the sort of stuff you might see on the news at night time, big deal.
Norrs
You can't judge Nt drivers by watching the quality of the drivers on our roads. Most of the drivers on our roads aren't from the NT. Even if they have NT plates they are mostly from down south. I aint saying that NT drivers are best. Everywhere I go the drivers suck. The NT is no different.

ROFL!!! bowrofl.gif bowrofl.gif bowrofl.gif

Uhh, isn't that EXACTLY how NT drivers should be judged?

And Fragga - nice change of the signature pic from drifting on the street to the burnout on the driveway. If only the car had been about 2m forward it wouldn't have been on government property. The nature strip and the section of driveway that cross it are government owned. laugh.gif
Fragga
hey mate. how bout u take another look,..
ull find that i probly could have reveresed the car 2m closer to the road and still been on my side of the fence/nature strip.

so yeah mate i think its a pretty decent choice of signature pic.
nice and legal.. on private property.
i may even be able to find u a picture of the skid marks showin that they actually start about 3m from my fence.

on ya mate thumbsup.gif
incubus
those ad's are aimed at all the fuckwit AJ's that move up here.....

if they stopped victorians and sand gropers from crossing the border the nt would be a better place
Zmit
lock it.
not gonna help anyone or anything anymore.

fuck that time....

Anyway, back on topic: Hooray for red light, speed cameras, and demerit points! I'm all for them!
Fragga
lol fair call ancullen.

i honestly cant believe up untill recently u guys never had demerit points...
oh and the fines up here a lol worthy.
sp33d
mate, they were only $50 in 2006 for going <15kmh over !~
incubus
speed - bite fuck ya tongue.gif
Fragga
lol yeah thats just a joke.
i got done doin 88 at the light at bp palms
110 and 1 demerit
thatd have been nearly a $300 fine in adl haha
Axis Monkey
every single state and territory has shitty drivers and they have good drivers

because we have never had red light cameras up here the majority of local drivers dont know how to deal with them...

i deal with them by not being a tosser and not running a yellow for the sake of at most, 1 minutes extra on the journey...
vh-holden
people that do burnouts and post them in their signature are evil

You are a deadset bigmouthed fuckwit sometimes.

If you look at the statistics big mouth you will see that Northern Territory road users are by far the worst in the country especially for drink driving.

I've lived in every state and i can assure you that Darwin drivers (people living in darwin) are fucking useless those ad's are aimed at NT drivers as southern states have roughly 10 to 20 thousand more fucking roundabouts in each state and southern drivers actually know how to use them fucktard.

You might want to check the legislation then champ... Your driveway isn't fully fenced, doesn't have a locked gate, and doesn't have any signage warning the public that it is private property, and is therefore a public place... The public have right of access via the most direct route to your front door, including your driveway, & it doesn't matter where you live... It's called 'tacit consent'. For example, if Mr Bible Basher (example only) enters your property to knock on your front door and inform you of the benefits of worshiping The Good Lord, he has every right to do so. Same goes for the local Pollie doing his campaigning, same goes for the local copper doing a doorknock when your neighbour gets broken into.

If you've got 10 acres out at Humpty Doo with a purpose built burnout pad well away from the main driveway then you can probably get away with doing your skids, but be very careful what you consider 'private property' you'd be surprised what can legally be considered a public place.

lol
yeah fair call.
i get what ya saying there. thing is, technically im allowed to do it. the only thing i could possibly get in trouble for is noise pollution, and apparently only if the copper actually witnesses it..
(have had the conversation with multiple coppers that ive met at car events just outta curiosity)
so ive been told anyways.
but you do have a good and valid point.

but yeah back on topic.
red light camers.
wah wah theres gonna be what 9? in darwin now?
i say keep em comin, im not overly a fan because i do believe the main reason for speed camers and radar units is revenue raising. but if they think its gonna slow people down and stop me from nearly gettin hit by wankers in l/cruisers when they decide that red lights mean speed up.

Don't forget the $10 victim's levy! It makes all the difference when deterring people from continuing their speeding crime sprees!
Zmit
I'm more keen on the red light function of it!
people are too keen to push the limits when the lights turn yellow...
