hai all.

i have a problem with my interwebz, i use firefox, and for a few weeks now i have been having adverts pop up. i have done a scan and it has come up with tracking cookies from these sites, and i have deleted them, blocked them and yelled at them and they keep coming back.
i have spyware and adware, run AVG and its on a windows XP laptop.
can anyone please tell me how to make these bastard adverts go away? they're not even for anything decent!

thanks smile.gif

Popping up outside the browser or just inside?

If its just inside, install AdBlockPlus for Firefox.

If its outside, you've got adware.

it pops up as a new window

i apparently have an adware thing, but i am unsure of its quality. this is my mothers laptop. ex government piece of overpriced shit. so i am not trusting al the programs that they pre-installed, but unfortunately, there is no windows key so i cannot re-format it or anything

what adware download do you recommend?
the red krawler
Malware Bytes (malwarebytes.org iirrc)

You can also get something like Magic Jellybean (http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/) to find your installation key, therefore allowing you to reformat (safest option).
