Im going to purchase a new headunit sometime soon and was just wondering if the Clarion VRX486VD unit actually plays cds/dvds or if this thing is just a screen? and if i need to purchase an additional headunit to go with it. Below is the link for it.

yeh im buying a used one off a friend and just doin online research as usual just to see what im getting

are these headunits any harder to install than the standard ones? only going to be hooked up to some 6x9s which will be powered by an amp, maybe also a sub but yeh pretty standard setup

whats rough install costs these days?

sorry for the simple questions lol
Audio Express
install depends on what its going into. $100-$150 is the norm for me. allow a bit of room behind the rear of it, there are a few cables that you will need to manipulate.

I have the double din version of this. Only thing to think about before you screw it in is that the handbrake cable to de-activate the saftey feature on the screen you cannot just earth it out and expect it to work. The unit needs to see that its not earthed out when the unit is switched on then needs to see that it is. I.e it thinks the handbrake was off when you start the car then the handbrake was put on when the car is still turned on but not moving
