Hi peeps,
Just wanted to tell you a little story hoping that none of you make the same mistake I did, less than a month ago I purchased 3 Tom Tom go730's from a leading electronics store (thanks dick) they did us a good deal for paying cash and buying more than one unit with that I was very pleased, however within 2 days one of the tom toms started to shut down continuously and would no longer play mp3 files lost phone settings, would forget planned routes and was a total pain in the ass so I/we took it back with our receipt and had it replaced no problem with the store they were good about it, within a week the second unit started to get amnesia as well and needed to be constantly restored from my laptop, so I started to get a little shitty and emailed tom tom support, guess what ? 2 weeks later no reply no nothing ....... now the 3rd unit is crapping itself, it wont play mp3 files for more than 10 mins its audio output plug is now completely useless and trust me not one of the units so called fm transmitter is any good, the signal is so week that if you drive a car that has an antenna more than a metre from the unit it will sound like shit and if you have a late model Falcon with the antenna built in to the rear window lol forget it its useless.
So please DO NOT PURCHASE the pieces of absolute crap.... and if you work for or know someone who has anything to do with TOM TOM australia or whoever thier parent company is ... tell them to do something I am on just about every drivers forum known to the Australian man .... they probably won't loose any sleep but at least nobody else will feel as ripped off and as pissed off as me...
I will be returning all of the units tomorrow and asking for a full refund, each unit is worth around $450.00, This shit don't fly with me I concider this a complete waste of my time and will never buy another tom tom product again, if you say your product has mp3 playback, fm transmitter and audio output then I should be able to use those functions without problem, even though the device is just a navigator. oh yeah good luck with getting the "text to speech" option working that it says it has, we have tried 6 different mobile phone systems with the units and it will not work....
Keep the rubber side down girls and boys, much road love!
