I challenge you to find any peer reviewed medical article which even hints at the fact that any detox/cleansing diets give any benefits to your body.
Let me save you the trouble and tell you that you wont. Any effects you or anyone else may feel are nothing more than placebo. Ask any respectable doctor and they will tell you not to bother and instead just eat a well balanced diet and your body will do the rest.
Detoxing kinda falls in the same realm as acupuncture, chiropractors and homoeopathy.
I am not trying to be a dick, this is just a heads up from someone who is in the medical field.

Ummm, what? Detoxing = failure. The three you've mentioned can actually have some incredibly positive effects on your body, especially chiropractors....

Actually no they can't.
Acupuncture: The very latest and currently the largest study show that the effects (relief) of professional acupuncture can be mimicked by randomly poking the person with tooth picks (and not even breaking the skin)
Homoeopathy: I am not going to even touch this, dilutions used in preparations usually leave none of the intended material in the final product. (i.e. You would actually be lucky to get even 1 molecule of the "central ingredient" in the bottle that you buy. There is 0, and I mean zero scientific support for this.
Chiropractors: I agree they can have positive effects in terms of back manipulations, however chiropractors also claim they can cure various diseases by doing so. Again something that has never been backed up with any empirical evidence.

only eating apples huh, expect to start feeling lethargic.
Speaking of Detox's. Anyone seen that one advertised on tv, the 48 hour detox diet or WTF it is.
"in just 48 hours you could look like this ( or however it goes)" * shows pic of ripped dude, hot chick e.t.c
What a fucking load of utter shit. I wonder how many people fall for this.

I have to be honest and say that i lasted one day, and i woke up this morning and got out the oat meal haha! i did feel kinda good tho this morning.. but far too hungry, i think due to my regular big meals and stuff going from that to just apples was kinda silly.
I recon it would work on peoples who eat little and often or if you prepared yourself for it!

As drdimo said, looking for a quick fix or an easier way than a proper well balanced diet with regular exercise is just not the way. I think these types of fad diets should not be allowed to advertise. I can't see why they don't start to teach about proper eating habits in school. It's too hard to change the current generations way of thinking, but why not start on the next one coming through?

I think people need discipline B Unit, thats the problem. They bust their ass for 3-5 hours at the gym and throw it all away at the dinner table thinking "She'll be right ill just burn it off" One of the best quotes I have heard is that "you cant out train a shitty diet".
Riggaz wasnt having a go at you personally, I was just saying in general. Why try something so stupid and outlandish when the tried and proven method of eating clean and exercise has worked so well over the years.

So your planning to eat some healthy carbs? No protein? Not many vitamins? No essential fats?
Yes, sounds like a fantastic idea, not sure why everyone doesn't do it, I mean, your body / metabolism didn't really need anything but some carbs and the vitamins contained in apples.
Good luck, hopefully you get the results you want, but I wouldn't expect too much.
