Ok fools here's the deal.
What kind of food should I eat? (besides cock/shit ect) I don't really eat veggies/salad except for like potato, mushies, corn. I eat most meat. (not cock btw)
I've started training at the gym again, but would like to change my eating routine to assist my cardio training. (trying to join the ADF)
So...
What kind of quick, easy low-fat meals should I start eating?
Discuss.

I know what kind of workouts I should be doing. Got a PT and stuff to help me reach my goals before my 2nd ADF interview. However they says they're not allowed to help me with my diet, as it's taking away work from nutritionists.

Chicken is amongst the highest protien rich meats per weight, hit that up and spice it up abit, you can do pretty much anything with it. I only just worked out that if you cut breasts up into little seggies you can roll them in egg then in corn flour, cook it in a decent amount of oil and it goes all crispy, stick abit of chicken stock, salts herbs etc and you've gota fuckn bangn meal

dont eat processed foods like bread, pasta, chips and all that rubbish.
Ideally for breakfast have some oats or eggs with bacon, lunch have some tuna and salad, afternoon tea chicken breast and salad and for tea have some steak and salad, if your after a snack at night time have some cottage cheese and maybe throw in a small handful of almonds or something like that...
Portion sizes depend on bodyweight and all that jazz, but plenty of protein and good fats with reduced processed carbohydrates is what reduces body fat and keeps you healthy.
Also this is pretty much a given but dont drink your calories, ie. avoid soft drink, ice break and anything with heaps of sugar and fat that you can drink. Just drink heaps of water and if you must have a soda have some diet soda.

last time i was dieting i was eating maybe 6-7-8 times a day, small meals every two hours basically, fresh fruit, strawberries, bananas, oranges, grapes, cruskits (only 2 with no margarine) with ham, tomato, onion etc, salads, weetbix, chicken, limited red meat, various veggies, light cheese and milk, yoghurt.
no potato, no butter, and no more than two slices of bread. no biscuits, chips, chocolate or coke/fizzy drinks.
i lost 5kg in three weeks, which i was happy with.
make sure you get at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday.
don't skip meals, cause you body goes into hybernation/survival mode, where its stores existing foods as fat instead of using them straight away as energy.
gl with it

It's more of a case of the fact they are not trained in giving out nutritional advice. In my opinion, most PT's aren't trained adequately to train yet alone hand out dietary advice.
Head over to the health and fitness section mate, there is alot of good dietary advice already listed.

Home made protein bars, search google, or here. I've got a link somewhere (snack section I think, I'm on a crappy e-pc at the moment do forgive me for not searching for you, its really crappy) They will do you for food in between meals, easy to make, good for you e.t.c.
For main meals go for chicken, steak, fish, basmati rice, sweet potatoes. There's a shopping thread here some where too with a good list of ingrediants.

watch the sugar content on them. They arent ideal, but if your in a bind then they are better than junk food. Get the low carb ones though.

Most protein bars are loaded with sugar/carbs so watch out. If you are still keen on them (as they are a simple snack alternative) try making your own. I have tried this recipe with great success however I was bulking at the time.

Whey is basically a great protein source, primarily because of its high branched chain amino acid (BBCA) content. Helps recovery/muscle growth etc. You can get it at any health shop, there are various cheap online places as well. Works out at about $1 a bar or so from memory if you make smaller bars than those in the pictures (which i would recommend goes they are MASSIVE).

Woolies normally have better protien bars then coles. But always try to go for the low carb/low sugar ones. There is a no-name brand from woolies which tastes like space food sticks (i got nuts for those things) and its low carb.
Whey is made from dairy/cheese and normally its mixed with flavors to give it taste - whey is what protein powder is. There is a thread in here which goes into detail who takes what. From personal experience ON (optimum nutrition) whey is my favourite, the chocolate and strawberry flavors taste best.

They are probably Ideal, the protein stops you from getting hungry, so you won't be thinking about food and if you make your own, you control what gos in them, really simple to make and a perfect if you have certain requirements.

Hence me saying make your own. The basic ingrediants are protein powder, peanut butter, milk and oats. But you can pick and choose what you want, there are loads of recipies on the net.
Most of the protein bars i've come accorss are low carb, most of the other ones with carbs normally refer to themselves as meal replacements or bulking food e.t.c.
edit: the one Drdimo posted up is the one I was looking for specifically, they are piss easy to make.

With those protein bars just recently linked... How should I eat them?
What I mean by that is... Should I use to replace meals? Should I eat them b4/after gym? Brekkie?
Sorry for 20 questions but I want the correct answer before I go play chef.

You would use them for snacks. I.e morning tea, afternoon snack, after training e.t.c. They should keep you full whilst being lowin Kj/sugar/carbs depending on how you make them, it also doesn't hurt to have some fruit as well (bannanas or apples)

Are you making these bar's yourself? If not protein bars aren't that good, I'd take protein shake + some healthy carbs instead.
Light breakfast? Errr, a decent breakfast is good, no idea what you refer to as "light"
You might want to read (hopefully no one minds me linking off this forum to others),
foods that make you look good nekid General diet advice (calorie levels)There's an article on protein here if you don't understand it's importance..... FYI, the article mentions a smallish amount, its common to have much larger amounts, 4.4g/kg muscle is a common measure I've heard but its upto you.

mmm I hope you know that the recipie for the given ones above have a few carbs in them and are best used in the morning or pre/post workout. I recommend splitting them into 8 bars, like the guy recommends if your trying to lose weight. The nuritional value of the bars is listed in that link as well.
There are more recipies on the net, there should be a link here in the snacks topic with a whole heap of them.

Really depends when you do your workouts.
If you do an afternoon training session you would probably have one before, then your post workout meal will either be dinner or a protein shake (depending on when you eat dinner and what time you train, but you need something with in half an hour post workout ideally)
Breakky should be real food, keep the bars for In between meals (morning trea e.t.c), they shouldn't replace a proper meal.

You know what i done.
the CSIRO total well being diet.
It's a 12 week diet. Well its not really a diet, you just have to eat what is in the book. It is all proper food, nice food. salmon, sheperds pie, home made pizza. Even deserts and stuff. Low Fat of course..
I done it, with some light training i lost about 10kilos.. But if i trained harder i would have lost more. But i suggest that diet if you want to try something diff. Sure it may not be for you, but you never know. You can always turn it into a challenge with your mates

Whoever loses the most weight wins.. Wins money or whatever...
