As the topic states i am looking to buy a dirt bike but i want to make sure when buying one that it is legit.
Is there a website or an agency which i can contact to check chassis or engine numbers when i find a bike i'm interested in?
I being new to buying a dirt bike i can only assume that if you buy one which turns out to be stolen you not only lose the bike
but may also be charged with receiving stolen goods.
I'm sure there must be a register of this type of things such as there is for registered vehicles.
Any info/links would be much appreciated!

Contact the police or ask the people you are buying from for proof of purchase

Just do a revs check on it and it will show if stolen or money owed on it!! Even tho unregoed it doesnt matter. I used to buy bikes for a bike shop and found a few stolen ones that people try to trade in!!!!
