Lindsey Donai Motorcycles, he had a shop in Oxenford for over 15yrs and recently closed it as the building was purchased by Stihl and wouldn't renew his lease. He is one of the most experienced guys on the coast and will look after you, he now runs a workshop from home. His number is 5502 7774

Regardless, you will still pay an arm and a leg at any retail outlet, they have alot more cost outlay wich means they charge at least $70 per hour labour, without the 15yrs in mx racing expereance! BFR Charges just $40 - $50 per hour! PM ME if want a quote!

I only take my bike to BFR because the pricing is great, he listens to what you want, knows what hes talking about and gets the job done properly and promptly.

Pays to know people i guess. I wouldn't have said it, but i went in there last friday i think it was, kinda old guy said it would probably take a day and a half to do what i asked, and labour for a day is up around $800. So i said thanks and walked off, dunno if it was cause of the job, or cause of the bike, but thats what i was told.

this is for every 1... put my bike in at pro kawasaki nerang for a top end rebuild... they fucked up major put piston rings in wrong charged me for shit they didnt do and i need to get the rebuild done bout 3 weeks after... mechanic was shocked at the state of it when he saw it... (different shop).. i asked pro kawasaki about it and they didnt want to hear a word told me its not there problem... so i spent 1300 there and then another 1400 at another shop because of there fuck up.. yeaaa i strongly recommend not using them... picked my bike up on a saturday and the apprentice was there by himselfand no 1 else was working with him.. he looked about 16 .. yea dunno but i dont really want a apprentice workin on my bike by himself... bikes good now though

Why dont you fellas go buy a manual. cost you 80 dollars and do most of the work yourself? A good set of tools will cost you 200-300 dollars for some sockets and spanners.
The time spent on the bike is free, its fun and you will learn. Parts are cheap, its labour that costs you heaps.
I can adjust the valves on my 450 in about 30 minutes if I have a box of shims with me. I can rebuild a two stroke, from bike being complete in frame in about 2 hours. Bikes are easy to work on. Ive never had any of my workmanship explode in my face or fail. But bike shop work can and does do it.
If you are keen on bikes, want to save the cash and not pay 600 for a top end rebuild that will cost 150 in parts, get a manual and some tools. You wont regret it. You dont need a big shed, dont even need a shed. The tools required are basically a 8,10,12,14,17,19,21 mm socket and spanners. Plus a large shifter, hammer, feeler gauges and spark plug socket and you're basically there.
Consider that next time you are paying FUCK loads for someone to do some work. Jobs like fork seals do need special tools, so it will need to go to the shop, but otherwise you're on homes straight

if you can adjust valves why cant you do forks?? fork seals are piss easy lol what are these "special tools" you need?

I dont wanna fuck things up worse then paying more to get my mistakes fixed. At least if I get a workshop to do my work there is a liability on the workshop to do the work and if your bike messes up after that you can go back to the shop and tell em to fix it. My 2c

The special tools required for fork seals are...seal drivers. You can use the old seals to drive the new ones home, but if you fuck it up trying to get the old seal correctly in place, then subsequently, squew the new seal, you can fuck it good and proper. For seals are easy once youve done them a few times, but after youve fucked a few seals, you'll soon sought out a seal driver to do it properly...

never used a seal driver and i have never had a problem..

... if you used your old seal to push them in how do you get it off the fork leg? cut it?
most damage done to the new seal is when sliding it down onto the fork leg itself..

Lying about what they did is a bit slack, but they do need to make a profit to keep running, everyone knows how second hand bikes/cars work.

Even in saying that,I also would not even ride past a team moto store if there was another road to take...
Avoid them like the plague is my suggestion - take it or leave it

Yeah, i've only bought gear from team moto honda in nerang, i didn't mind the blokes selling that, the actual guys selling the bikes were a bit iffy.
