For those night time landscape shots, keep your ISO at 100. No need to go above it.. Since your using a tripod, a long exposure with iso 100 will be the best!!

The 1st shot - needs more exposure.. also your horizons aren't straight.

The last moon shot is great smile.gif

Keep it up.. looking forward to seeing more shots.

thats great and all but \
1. I prefer to not use a tripod for stuff like this
2. I was infront of a light pole so i had to aim way up
3. Being on a tripod doesnt allow you to move fast enough to get planes
4. Maybe I like the trippy effect it gives the fireworks when i move a little
5. Photography for me isnt about what others like but what I like
6. Dont try to sell me things in my photography thread

Oh and if you were just dave i might of taken that newbie comment on board

LOL @ 40PSI - you are a douche.

Mate - if you put your pictures up and in your subject heading it says "FEEL FREE TO COMMENT" then what Chris did was exactly that. Your plane pictures aren't too bad - you don't need a tripod for shots during the day, but I am confident that I speak for Chris when that comment was referring to your fireworks shots. The fireworks/wheel shots are crap. No doubt about it. For them to look any good you need no camera shake. If you like the epileptic effect, then good for you, but no-one else finds that stuff pleasing to the eye. Sure, Chris is not JUSTDAVE, but he's a good photographer.

Just because your pics aren't as good as you might think they are - don't get shitty at someone if they tell you so. You asked for feedback - he gave it to you.

I agree with what he said - buy a tripod.

x2

I have witnessed Chris do photography... in fact he's been teaching me lately how to do photos... and of course he isn't professional, because it started out with him as a hobby, now regularly he cons me into going on random photography missions... and its all about practice...

You need to start somewhere, and dude doing fireworks shots on long exposures are best with a tripod... as everyone has said... and below is another piece of chris' work... its not 100% but this was just when he upgraded to the 450D which i now have tongue.gif and it only got better with practice..

cause i know just dave personally and just trust him i suppose

some of your pictures are good, some are shit..

you need to make sure that what you take photos of has a subject, like the ones of the moon *top of page* are pointless and boring to look at, where as fire works are different and are not boring to the eye.

backdrops also have a big input on what ever you take a photo of, eg; you wouldn't take a photo of a surfboard in the middle of the dessert, if you know what i mean.

+1 on tripod, it makes the photos look 1000 times better and it cost next to nothing to buy one, hell i didn't even pay for my one.

apart from that practice practice practice.

And that makes it all ok because?

Not really judging you, but its a start, invest in a tripod and your long exposure pics will turn out many of times better...
