As i often change the settings and reboot my wireless routher, its occasionally left being an open network with no pass word.

Someone faggot nearby likes to download as much as he fkn can in the short time periods that its left open.

Got his IP and MAC address... anyway i can contact him while he's connected to my network? based off the info i have?

Would be fun to threaten/troll/scare him

if you know a bit about computers you could run backtrack on the network and be able to view everything he does and view all his logins and passwords he uses.. youtube it wink.gif

During the times the network is left open, disconnect the modem so that there in no access to your internet. Then after you've setup your security you can reconnect the modem.

you have to look for the "SSID Broadcast" disable that on your router, just go for you router setup "192.168.0.1" hope it helps

Nothing you can do with his IP/MAC address unless you are planning on a DDOS attack. wink.gif

Best thing is to set a password firstly and then enable "MAC Filter" which allows you to only have your MAC address use it.

MAC filtering is yet another encouragement for the person to go find an easier target. Its totally worthwhile, imo.

WPA2-PSK, MAC filtering, hidden SSID, no DHCP (and an odd-ball IP range) are all great at keeping your network to yourself.
