Hi guys,
I know this has been gone over a million times by now, but I've been using Google and found a few transport companies to move a car I'm looking at, and there quoting around ~1270ish to get it up here, Just wondering if any one has some contacts that may be able to transport a small car up from Brisbane at a better price?
Cheers.

Yeah, i used Ceva for the last car i had transported up here, and it wasnt too bad, but there quoting 1300ish for it, which puts the car out of my price range..

I'll say this again (maybe make it a sticky)
For any freight/cars coming from Perth, Sydney, Brisbane or Kununnura and vise-versa, please give Shaws Darwin Transport a call on 89471224 and ask for Gary. Let him know Scotty sent you and he'll more than look after you
Scotty
P.S. Doesn't matter how low it is

$1000-1500 is typical Brissy or Adelaide to Darwin prices.
If you want you can have a look around Adelaide way and get it up on the rail, but that has no Insurance... Or just drive it up yourself, Brissy to Darwin is only a bubby drive.

Try CompareQuotes.com....I used them and saved a bundle over the CEVA quote....and weirdly enough, the car still travelled on CEVA and they did a great job.

Height of car shouldnt ever be an issue, but if you notice on most condition reports that it states cars with lowered or raised springs arent liable for insurance if damage occurs.
We had one guys once with raised Toyota springs which were ofcrouse not the standard payload strenght, and then had inside the car an gearbox and a toolbox in the back. At the time we were one of the only people allowing items in the car so we allowed it, but when his car smashed the frick out of the springs and he got there and they were dead he wasnt happy... Wasnt our issue.

Thanks Mate, Gave him a call and he gave me the details for another guy in Brisbane, just waiting to hear back from him.
Depending on how much he quotes, i may just fly down and drive it back up...

So your not allowed to have stuff in the car?

I bought an AW11 MR2 up from Brisbane a while back....no height problems.
If you're buying from a dealer get them to organise it....they get a dealer discount which they should pass on to you if you let them know you're getting them to do it because you know they get cheaper rates.
By doing it this way I paid $900 instead of the $1300 that was quoted to me directly.
Hope that helps.....an I trust you'll enjoy working on a rear-engined car with zero underside access

Oi dickhead, how about you think for a second did your father own a car carrying company?
Secondally if its that low its illegal anyways, but even still it can get on the truck, its called longer ramps and blocks undeneath the ramps making more length...
