I don't know if anyone has noticed, but at the parer drive / trower road intersection there is a sign aimed at drivers turning left onto trower road that says to give way to pedestrians. the pedestrian crossing there is controlled by lights. the left turn lane is also controlled by lights.
which one has to be followed as they cancel each other out? if the car has the green arrow to turn left, the pedestrian crossing has a red light so the pedestrians should not move. but if the sign is to be followed, you have to give way to pedestrians.
and does anybody know off the top of their head what the fine is for crossing a road against a red light?
i've had a bit of a search on the nt legislation and summary offences page but can't pinpoint anything.
