Ok I've been eating a bit before I go to bed since I already know it takes hours to break down ect
I'm just curious as to how much I should be eating?
I just eat it straight from the tub by itself. Is there anything I could mix it with to give better results? Or should I just stick to what I'm doing now?
How much approx would be an appropriate meal? I also eat a handful of almonds before going to sleep as well.

With almonds is a great idea, basically anything with fibre will slow down the process of food breaking down, giving you a more steady stream of nutrients and keeping your insulin levels at a more constant rate.
How much cottage cheese should I be eating before sleep? also does it matter if its low fat or not?

Low fat would be better. I just try and have about 30-35g of protein before I go to bed. So I sometimes have a bit of chicken with a full 200g tub.

No it's a different taste and texture, just buy a small tub to try out. You can also get flavoured ones with sweet chilli etc.

What brand do you like best?
I actually found the home brand one is less runny then some of the others and way more cheaper

I usually have 250g before bed.

200-500g before bed is good; depends if you're trying to gain or lose weight as too how much you eat. Either way the casein will limit you from starving while you sleep for 8hrs

the weight watchers one is low fat, but has a lot of protien, tastes good aswell, try it with salt pepper and diced tomato

The Weight Watchers brand is also very good. 97% fat free which is great in my opinion. I eat around 1.5-2kg's per week at various times throughout the day. I also love mixing it with pasta sauce to dull the tomato.

Bulla Low Fat works for me. I tried the Home Brand low fat creamed cottage cheese but I didn't like it's thick consistency and it tasted like it had a lot of salt.
Depends on where you go, some supermarkets don't stock many 500gm tubs, only the 250gm tubs. Is there somewhere to buy it in larger tubs and how well does a larger quantity keep in the fridge?

What is cottage cheese supposed to help you with?? I need to drop weight (was a Rugby Union front rower), I'm 113 now (5'10") and my ideam BMI tells me I'm should be about 80kg, and I know it's not going to happen. I'm aiming for about 95kg as an ideal weight (I'm solid and muscley, can't sugar coat the facts!).
Cheers, Greg.

It's just a slow release form of protein, ideal for while you are asleep to help spare muscle mass. Which is ideally what you want to do to help keep your basal metabolic rate elevated while you lose body fat.

So as well as a good diet and exercise, around 200g of cottage cheese before bed helps the body kick over when you are asleep?
I've never heard of this before so I'm just trying to get my head around it in language I understand.
I've always been 'heavy', and I'm over hurting my back due to my weight. If I can add this cheese to my regime and speed things up, I'm going to do it!
Cheers, Greg.
