Hey all, I'm having a very hard time finding out what these guys run in the 1/4, the only data I have found is one fairly heavily modded one on a forum running 12.7 ish. The 0-60 times are so widely varied in articles as to be useless.
Anyone got a time slip, or at the very least a link to someone else's?
peace ouuuttt
s13viper
Between 5 and 6seconds 0-100
Between 13 and 14seconds 1/4 mile

Depending on traction, weather, driver, planet allignment etc

In general though its low 5's and low 13's
wolfman101
that's what I've generally heard too,
just after some timeslips to be sure...
surely there are some owners on boost? wavey.gif

I have just started running mine in Darwin so bit hot up here but take a look at the following links in place of the slip for an idea.

http://www.hiddenvalleydrags.com/raceresul...lts20090731.pdf
My car number is 1781 and first time at the strip completely stock 09 R8 Clubbie.

My car number is 1781 and second time at the strip with OTR and tune but very slippery track as speedway was next door same night.

19' street tyres both night. Hope that helps.

Dave

so just to clarify:
you did around a 14.1 stock, and then around a 13.5 tuned?
How happy were you with the launch? Did you spin?
Are you auto? As a matter of fact, do the r8s come in manual at all? Also
OTR is?

Clarify
I have a 6spd manual.
Completely stock with street tyres the best I got first night was 13.8 with lot of wheel spin and axle tramp off the line that the VE is known for.

OTR Over the radiator cold air intake mafless system (Duspeed) and tune by oztrack on second night, the timing was playing up but the best I got was 13.04 still with wheel spin and axle tramp off the line and 2nd gear wheel spin.

On both above occassions my reaction time was crap also.

Now have street slicks and suspension complete so next meeting should be very interesting, I think the launch will be a wild ride next time.

Dave
wolfman101
got it. when are you going out again?
wolfman101
ah...so you're subtracting reaction time from the ET. Here in Brissie, the the timer starts when the beams are broken, so the ET is the real time-reaction time irrelevant. Are you sure that isn't how it works up there?

Not real sure as its all new to me.

The slips from the night shows ET which I thought was the run time which is the times I stated above. Mind you the timing system here has gremlins so never really sure till its upgraded.

But good fun all the same.

I'm seeing 14.84 under "et" in the first one...
I am confused:(

Forgot - next street meeting is 18 Sept.
wolfman101
Ok coolz, didn't realize there was more than one race for you on each page.
Nice times. I'm sure you can go faster...that much HP (how much you making now?), should be able to get you a bit faster I'd think...
Let me know how it goes,

All Good.

I am not much of a dyno man so not sure, maybe when exhaust and cam are installed I will take it in.
I am hoping for mid to low 12's with the street slicks.
Shall let you know how it goes.

You thinking of buying one?

Dave
wolfman101
nope, I'm good...
just curious about all cars, and found the info to be very varied on the clubbies.
I'm currently running mid 12s with my '6 on street tyres, and thinking of getting a tune if I can find someone who knows what they're doing here...not easy with these cars. That'll probably put me in the very high 11s at this stage...though I may be reduced to mailing my ECU to Germany to get flashed!
I think 12.5-13.0 is definitely doable for you with slicks, I think that less than 12.5 could be optimistic.
oh well, we'll see eh? thumbsup.gif

Yep all good. See what happens on the night. Be good night out either way. thumbsup.gif

reaction time has no bearing on et
wolfman101
yea, figured that one out. that's what I was telling him, but turns out that wasn't what he mean't anyway.
saki636
there was a r8 at willowbank last nite think he ran a 13.6ish, think it was stocko. i know of a guy with a new r8 wagon he spun 217rwkw on da dyno stock and think about 265ish with a zorst and cai and tune. dont make much power...
wolfman101
Have you get any evidence of those figures?
Not doubting you, just one of those people.
That is something I've noted in a lot of HSV reviews-they usually say that the times seem to be unattainable in real life, sometimes speculating that a "fuzzy" setup was used in the test...racing fuel, pro driver, non standard tyres, etc.
Ties in with what my mechanic always says. He runs a major euro tuning company here in brissy, being a former head of service at Benz Brisbane. I was talking up the new Maloo I think. His reaction was essentially "We'll have to see when I get one in here, it's usually hard to get the kind of figures they release in the promo material". that's in contrast to the merc/bimmer/audi stuff, that is usually right on or underquoted-my car being a classic example!
I'm curious what the guy who was heading to the track posts next time...

Wolfman101

Went down the strip Friday night with the semi slicks. Had two runs before the clutch let go, guess it didnt like the slicks and 6000rpm launch.
Best I got before that happened was a 12.995 @ 108.7mph. Was a bloody hot night too, 28C & 500% humidity - not an excuse just a reminder of where I am.

Tried psi of 28 first run, 22 second run and 15 last run before oooooooooh whats that smell and I cant get second.

Continued on for the night after it cooled but took it easy thru the eliminator rounds, dont know how but got thru five rounds.

Anyway - the new cam is going in before last street meet here on 2/10 and a new clutch of course. See what happens next time thumbsup.gif

wolfman101
sweet.
so what's the mod list for the last outing in total?

sweet.

mod list done so far
Oztrack Tune
Duspeed CAI

installing this wknd
Oztrack cam & re-tune
stock exhaust modification (electronic cut outs after cross over dumped) keep the stock look.
ripshift kit

Oh and I found out today the clutch itself is ok (kinda) its the self adjusting mech that is failing which is the VE V8 factory fault yet to be rectified angry.gif
The clutch pedal sticks to the floor = no clutch = manually pull the pedal back from the floor with foot or hand. Great when it happens mid run. bowrofl.gif or crossing an intersection.

Lastly not really a mod but running MT slicks now which seemed to resolve the axle tramp completely thumbsup.gif and resulted in good 60ft times for a manual box.
wolfman101
so you were on slicks for that time?
