i currently have a standard ADSL+2 wired modem which i am connecting to my laptop. i am looking into buying a wireless modem, however i heard that the ethernet cable needs to be plugged into another PC,at all times in order for it to work

Im just wondering if this is true, or if i just need another PC to configure the settings, then once this is done, unplug ethernet and modem will work fine without being plugged into another computer?

thanks...
kit
Once the wi-fi modem/router is configured it does _not_ require an ethernet cable to be plugged in at all times.

You can connect all wi-fi hosts if you really wish.

PS. Dynalink RTA1025W is a great wifi modem/router available from www.cormain.com.au for $100 plus shipping ($10).. I have no affiliation with them however both myself and the red krawler have one and they are fantastic.
