Got my racing seat in finally, got all the sound deadneer out from under it too lol. All the interior is gone except the piece of metal that holds the steering column and handbrake in place. Got to fit my tacho and temp gauge, remove the towbar, side pipe the exhaust and i'm done!!!

Theres usually a good mix of street registered and race purpose cars there, so you won't be alone on that. Most of the time its a half and half mix. I've only pulled mine to pieces to try and shed some weight. It's still going to be slow but hopefully not embarissingly slow lol. Praying for a Mid 10 but won't hold my breath, the 4.1 L 6 is far from a sporty motor, especially in stock form. The motor isn't staying in the car, saving to buy a 460 and C6 auto package.

wrench, your future plans sound awesome!
also, you seem to be a knowledgable chap. obviously, driver's in the event would need long pants and sleeves etc, but what is the ruling in regards to helmets. open or full face?
cheers,

Yeah its not really that serious out there but we do enjoy safety. Your helmet needs to have a Australian standards sticker on it, i think it has to be AS 1698. If you are riding a motor bike you also need gloves.
Full length clothing like you said, i would strongly suggest sunglasses and sunscreen coz it is always hot as hell out there on the run way for some reason. A hat too.
Take lots of drink! Foods pretty good out there if you are partial to the odd dagwood dog.
And if you can't wind your window down open your door LOL! Christ it gets hot in the car when lining up.
Scrutineering is another thing you got to pass before you can race. Main things to check for:
Seat belt works properly, seat is nice and tightly in place, steering wheel is secured properly and your steering isn't completely flogged out, brake pedal pressure is good, throttle doesn't stick, battery is anchored down and doesn't move or wobble around, tyres aren't completely shagged. Thats pretty much it, if you have a street registered car your pretty right coz all those things would get picked up on rego i'd hope.
Come and say g'day when your out there, i'll be in the white XE sedan, blacked out tail lights and head lights, side pipe.. hard to miss.
If there are any concerns just post them up, happy to answer them.

Great weekend! Got know where near the time i wanted but sure had fun trying. 11.1 @105kmh

. I had me 265 wide dragways with 12psi of pressure on the back and still had a smoking start, with a stock auto lol. Serious traction issues out there on the start line lol.
Thankyou to everyone who made it possible and thank you to the 61 entrants in total that we had, made for a interesting event.
A big

to TDRA.

i ended up going out with my mate. he had a great weekend. had a best run of 10.08 @ 112.
i spent the first part of saturday trying to solve a clutch fault with my ute. I only came along for support and i'm the one who has vehicle issues.....
oh well. was a top weekend. well run! if i get things sorted, i'd like to come out and compete at the next event.
cheers,
brett

$100 for a car to enter usually. Just rock up on the day, it does go for 2 days though. You will need to get your car scrutineered on the day by one of our inspectors ( TDRA ), it passes you get your number, pay your money and start racing. You will need to bring a helmet and full length clothing and covered foot wear. Dont need a cage. Just bring your street car or whatever you got.
If you read back further in this thread you will see what the scrutineers look for and so on and so forth, mainly just safety stuff, common sense.
