Hey everybody

I'm leaving for Japan on the 24th of Aug on my own to check out the Drift/Touge/Workshop/All round Jap car scene
I was somewhat inspired by 'WTF's thread on his recent invasion to Ebisu circuit for the Drift Matsuri.
So i thought i would start up my own thread

Considering this is a car forum i will keep it about the car scene, Starting with D1 at Ebisu over the weekend after i fly into tokyo, constantly keeping an eye out for any modified cars cruising around or meets going on. If i am lucky enough to come across any touge action i will be sure to take some footage and pictures. Also i will try to track down some workshops and see if they wont let me sneak a peek at some demo cars

While i am over there i plan on doing some shopping as all Import enthusiast's would, i have a very midly modified 98 Model 180sx i am setting up for Archerfield/QR Drifts and have some BIG plans for in the near future. So i will be picking up at least a turbo upgrade and LSD hopefully some steering lock extensions and small things like electronic boost controller, turbo timer, steering wheel ect ect. My 180 so far has a front mount, 3" Cat back, HKS Coilovers, 17x8 front & 17x9 Rear - Drift Teks, Dirft POD (Hells yeah) & best of all a chrome gear knob which gives it 5 extra HP! which you really need when still running stock boost haha.

Depending on internet access at different hotels i will try to keep this updated with info and pictures as often as i can
Feel free to comment on any info or if people have had previous experience in the land of the rising sun and could give me a few pointers it would be really appreciated

***QUICK UPDATE***

Have landed in Japan few days ago and having time of my life, such a beautiful and well cultured country i am feeling right at home, have met up with a few guys off boost one being Johno who has helped me a great deal and showed me around alot, really cool guy been having a great time tearing up Shinjuku and Arkihabara (Electric City) and few other places in Tokyo.

Checked out of my hotel in tokyo and caught the 300km + Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Fukushima/Nihonmatsu. Now in my hotel im anxious for a big weekend of D1 Round 5&6 at Ebisu! I cannot wait to see world class drifting at it's best, if im lucky might run into a couple of my idols while im there either way im sure i will have a wicked time.

After D1 im heading to kyoto for a couple of days then back to tokyo, i will be taking billions of photos and attempting to make a small video of my journey, planning to check out some well known garages before i leave ie Top Secret & Kazama Auto and tracking down Super Auto Bacs and Up Garage to pick up some much needed up grades for my 180
also if im lucky enough i will be checking out daikoku on friday night before flying back to au.
For those of you who dont know Daikoku is a huge car meet held at massive car park filled with highly modified cars of all sorts, i have only seen it on video but from what i can see and from what ive heard its definately a a experience not worth missing out on. Tough thing is that you cannot train it there, only drive or a very expensive taxi but if i can get a ride with somebody there i will definately takes lots a footage and videos!

Will post pictures after D1 as soon as i get to a computer to do so.

Wow man i have to say i'm very impressed. Your 180 looks so nice what happened to the rx7?
Everyone that goes to japan seems to have a great time would definitely be worthwhile

Cheers yeah the 180 is pretty mint in comparrison. Ended up selling the rx7 after i put a bit of money into it, turbo/coilovers/lsd/front mount/screamer pipe/fuel reg ect but wasnt reliable enough i fixed the overheating problem and sold it but heard back that the new owner was still having troubles with it and it actually got stolen which fkn sucks but i heard he got it back but with the expensive stuff taken off like the microtech and watnot which sucks cause i really didnt want to sell it but yeah 180 has been pretty good to me and drifts so much easier.

Japan is unreal man i fell in love with tokyo the day i got here everything is just awesome i think its a love it or hate it place but definately an experience, 99% sure im putting in my visa application when i get back to live here for 2 years talked to some of the other boys over hear about what to do and all sounds pretty simple so going to do it while i can.

How about you, upgraded form the s13 yet ?

Long story short..... D1 Ebisu = OMGGG!!! Best weekend ever!

Have a million photos to upload but not worth doing it until i can crop then to deacent size as i dont realy have a program on this hotel computer.

Daikoku is a goer tomorrow night!! Cant wait Johno some how landed us the new twin turbo v10 Rs6 so i will be filming at all times at daikoku and going to hit the wangan when everybody heads out so if i get some deacent footage i will make my lil video with highlights from d1.

Back in australia, cant say i was too happy to leave tokyo but i will be returning very soon if all goes to plan.

Just downloaded the photos and footage, will upload them tomorrow and see if it is worth me making this video to give you all an idea what it was like for anyone keen to check out this unreal country.

i am planning on going over there some time soon ... i was just wondering on were to get info from for hotels getting around and all the drift events ... im abit scared as im only 19. but i will be going with a freind who has family over there but she isnt to familia with the drift scence although she loves it lol. i can't wait to go as drifting is my life and i love the jap coulture. can some one give me some advice who has been or is over there already. i have searched the net for info but every thing i find is all in japanes lol any help would be great ...

I just got back from Japan, im 19 aswell just packed my bags and went over by myself so dont worry its pretty easy to get used, for me anyway i loved Japan.
