hey,
i have a Toshiba satellite pro A210 running windows Xp,
I have had problem getting my sound to work since i downgraded from vista to xp,
I had installed the realtek drivers from the Toshiba website, but couldn't get any sound (Except system beep noises), so i installed a sound driver from an old Intel express CD (Also realtek), this worked, but i had an "unknown modem device on high definition audio bus". this was fie for 18 months, but i started getting static noises (crackling) coming through my speakers at random times. So i uninstalled the random audio driver, and tried the one from the Toshiba site again, but i still had no luck with it..

And when i decided i would just go back to the other driver, when i try to install it i get a message saying The Version Driver is older than the system one" even though i have uninstalled the one from the Toshiba website..

so now i have no sound at all...

If you use your computer at a desk or something all the time go onto ebay you can get little usb sound cards for about $6 incl postage. just plug in a set of speakers to that.
