hey, everyone, i've got a bmw e21 from 1977that ive recently restored and im having trouble registering it as it has no compliance plates only a chassis number. i don't have the old rego number because i bought it unregistered.
My question is: do car pre 89 (before the adr approval laws) have compliance plates or vin numbers (17characters or more)
and how would i go about trying to get registered.
any help would be great. cheers

77 should have compliance plates....and ADRs started WAY before 1989 bro!!
Contact the Dept Transport and ask what you need to get it registered..it should still go through but questions will be asked as to where the plates are.....prolly a bit of dicking around but you should get a result...

Then go to jail when you get caught...
