what is the definition of commodore friendly?Would be nice to see some of the people from off here prove their ten second car claims but they arent driving commodores.I am gonna race this year but not sure which meet i will end up at and was wondering for the sake of the track is it better to get numbers at their meets or does attending private days help the track just as much?
Also its $50 to race at normal meets but $70 for this? Will there be vht down?
Not trying to start shit Kitten, just wondering out loud

Id say any car is ok to run as long as they are not there to make trouble like always.

Yes its $50 to run at normal meets but the $70 is covering track hire, trophies etc and you get to spend the day with your mates doing what we all love to do. AFAIK VHT is never used at private days like this but "can be" at an additional cost but im sure Jess can clear all that up.

Good luck with the day Jess hope it all runs smoothly and if i have something that can be run down the strip i shall be there thumbsup.gif
trey383
pretty sure they had one lane with vht at a previous drag day and without it there wont be much grip for the 10/11 and maybe even 12 second runners which is fine for a friendly type day but not so great if you think you are gonna rock up and run the numbers. As for trophies you have to be a club member to get one plus it only costs $60,but anyone else its $70 and you cant win a trophy. Not that i care bout trophies, but i guess thats the benefit of being "in da club."Good luck with it anyway, the more options like this might get someone hooked on racing that otherwise may not have been so its all good anyway
maccar33gtr
I will try and be there for this just as a spectator thought
jet_fighta69
and im sure u will get alot more runs in at this meet then u would at a normal meet.. $70 well spent..

will there be a cap on numbers?
WhiteVUSS
Any type of cars/bikes are welcome so long as you come with the right attitude, that is to have fun.
In previous years VHT has been laid in one lane, we are not sure at this if it will be this year.
And yes it does cost more than a normal meet but you will get about 10 or more runs down the track if you want to.
Trophies are for club members only, there will also be prizes which non club members will be in the running for.

Commodore friendly means, if you are a commodore hating bogan, you're not welcome. Otherwise, all cars are welcome to come along on the day.

Private days do help the track, especially as a chance to give the new people some feedback after our day.

As for the cost, I can guarantee you that you'll get more runs at our day than a normal track day. Plus, being a private day with no (or few) serious drag cars and no audience, appeals to a lot of people, especially first timers.

Also, its good to note that this is actually cheaper for non-club members this year, than it has been in the past!

VHT has been used in one lane in the past, I'm yet to find out if its an option - I'll be sure to let people know as soon as I know.

It's just like the traffic lights on the brooker... just less the blue and red party lights in the rear view mirror..lol
skit_r31
I'd be keen on this, you have a $20 "different driver" fee, what about another car? would that just be the full price again? ie. i have a car which would come on trailer, but wouldnt mind running the tow car down as well, infact, the tow car would be about half a second quicker than the car on the trailer :/.

Also got a mate who is interested in running his Liberty B4 (EJ20 twin turbo) down...
KITTEN
If you want to run two cars, but they wont be on the track at the same time, I'm sure we can work something out. You wouldn't be the first person to run their trailered car and then the tow car! If you like you can pre-pay for one, then we'll sort the second one out on the day smile.gif

Lawler
Just wondering would my mates EB falcon class as a comodore friendly car?
EVL-076
its entry fee well spent smile.gif
do ya run, roll back in to the dummy grid, and go again.
Last year i think i done 14 runs tongue.gif

your mates EB is welcome, its more so the bad attitude people that aint welcome
the more good entries, the better off it is for the club

im running the galant, see what i can break before powercruise laugh.gif
and cos the 13 inch grandpa wheels wont clear the commodore diff calipers, they are gonna get a flogging up there
will leave the galant locker under it until this event is over, just for that sole purpose tongue.gif
Lawler
ah sweet. ill have to mention it to my mate so he can run his vx ss because him and my mate with the eb have a friendly rivalry as expected but it all in good fun
