Better still, leave the peel on, more fibre.
Some other good snacks apart from the ones mentioned are almonds, walnuts, raw green beans, even taking Metamucil will help make you feel full, without all the calories. Maybe try and use this increase in your metabolism to squeeze in another small meal, this will only make you grow more.
