hey was wondering on a civic EG how much weigh you could expect it to drop with stripping most of the interior out (street legal), removing back seats, putting lightweight wheels on it, putting lighter seats in the front... and how much faster this would make it over a quarter mile?

anyone got some idea?

100kg of audio gear saved me 0.6sec

13.22 compared to 13.85

how do you know that wasnt a driver related issue? or less petrol etc?

generally one tenth of a sec for every 100lb you lighten it

I've heard every 100pds you remove is roughly a tenth of a second!! hope that helps
(there's 2.2ponds to a kilo if you wanna work out in kilo's i use old school measurements)

agree although I was going to say 50kgs = 1 tenth

1) it was a auto car
2) it was the same day
3) it was the same driver (me)
4) fuel load was a couple of Litres difference max

The 50kg per tenth of a second is close but it depends on the original speed of the car

a 1000kg car that does 12.00sec will drop a different amount of time to a 1000kg car that does 17.00sec.
drop 100kg and they both wont goto 11.90 and 16.90sec respectivly
