i need some advice on good strong manual gearbox's to go behind a red in a wb ute.

what type off red a 6 or an 8

if its a 6 a celica or supra box will do

for an 8 a supra 5 speed /toploader or anything else apart from m20 or even m21 (if your hard on the gear) maybe even try a ford single rail box

its a 6 i was gunna go a celica or supra but i want something thats gunna stand up to some punishment i was told celica wont be able to handle much.

does anyone no a rough price on a celica 5 speed steal case.
iv heard they are getting pretty expsensive these days.
any advice is greatly appreciated.

the box isnt expensive but the clutch and bellhousing isnt cheap as for strong ive got a corona four speed in my race car and isnt hasnt given any trouble in over 20years off racing use so i think the steel case would be fine

It depends what box you want. W55's are cheap as chips, good condition W57's can be had for around the $400 mark and W58's are $500-ish.

i didn't know wb utes came out with red 202's.
ive got an 81 wb and its a blue motor

I don't think they did come out with a red, unless it was a very early one.

In saying that, whats to say it hassn't been swapped in the past 29 years?

it doesnt matter if its a red blue black or even grey motor all holden 6's share the same bolt pattern on the block

nah they dont come out with reds only blues someone swoped it before me.
