Here's what we need a list of the top 50 cars best suited for drifting.
Maybe 2 list are needed.1 list for standard cars & another list for modified cars.
STANDARD.............................................................. MODIFIED
1. being the best........................................................1.being best.
50.being the worst.....................................................50.being worst

anyways spotx to be on topic... if you do some research via the popular google.com you will see what cars are most chosen and the types of vehicles been used. There is no point at all asking for what would be the worst. The worst would be a front wheel drive car.
And in conjunction with the previous thread you have posted...
http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index....;pid=1284373455You obviously want to get into drifting. So for your information... I do not know how to drift and nor do I want to attempt it.
But I want to tell you... The driver is in control no matter what car you drive. So choosing the best car for drift doesn't mean you will be able to drift as well.
Oh and I forgot to mention, choosing the best car for drift doesn't give you any reputation points either.

heres a tip - do a google image search for drifting. have a look at what they are driving. theres your answer.
honestly. 50 cars? what kind of answers are you hoping to get?

Yeah if you have the cash - but what does a track suited S15 do that an S13 doesnt that makes it worth the extra cash? not much...
same with an AE86. you pay so much extra for a small USABLE different between it, and an AE71 built for less money.

Doubt there would be fifty cars in your price range either..."sigh" I blame the FnF series of movies for all this hectic drift love lol. But a short list: S13, S14, S15, AE86, Nissan Laurel, Nissan Cefiro, Nissan Skyline, Mazda MX5 etc...you want something light with RWD obviously.
lil_bobby_260
Jul 25 2009, 04:11 PM
I drive an R31 Skyline - does well and has been really cheap to build. If i had the extra initial coin i wouldve gone S13.
That said - Mazda MX5 - hadnt thought of that but it would be perfect. Nice stiff chassis too, being a convertible.

Dunno, ask all the D1 drivers in Japan why they use S15's, and archaic 86's when they could be using S13's and KE70's etc.
To the original poster, if you want the answer you look to the best in the world...just watch D1 and see what cars they use
Ultimately most cars are capable of it, the better topic is prolly name the Best Top 50 drift drivers

S15>S13. Purely because it looks 100x better, and S13, you have a chance of owning a CA!

How about because they are D1 drivers and can afford to spend a bit extra purely for cool factor when it serves no fundamental purpose...? same as why people paint cars and put S15 fronts on 180SX's etc... because it looks cool. doesnt make it a better car.

each car to their own... they have weak and strong points... however one cannot simply compile a list of the 50 best drift cars...

especially when you pull out most of the standard parts... ie a standard S13 SR20DET will be no much for an S15 SR20DET... but if the S13 was running an aftermarket suspension setup and better tyres and some boost pressure... i'd bet on the S13.
The actual car doesnt mean much, compared to the final product. You cant just pit an AE86 against a Laurel, for instance. There is more to it than that, as each car has so much scope for modification. You cant just make a list, in order, of 1 to 50, there are too many variables.
Honestly, go to a track. there are 10 different types of car there at least, every wednesday night, and have a look at how little difference there actually is between the R32 4 doors, laurels, celicas, S13's etc that get out there...
its not a computer game, buddy. The cars dont come with stat. bars that you can compare.
EDIT: this reply is more for spotx, actually...

I'm just gonna say, pretty much any Nissan RWD platform of the last 20 years can and has been used for drifting.
Same with Toyota.
Or Mazda.
It's more about who is the best driver, not so much who has the best car.
But the right set up on the right car is naturally gonna be a better car, but if I drove a D1 car and the D1 driver drove my car I'm still willing to bed about a million Dollars he'll kick my ass.
And then say some thing funny in Japanese, which we'll all get printed on stickers and talk about whos car is the most bad ass.

s13's are the obvious choice for a budget drifter
jwebb2876
Aug 25 2009, 09:24 AM
I'd go R31 over the Silvia's, purely because you can go to any wrecker you want, even out in the boonies, and get replacement parts for next to nothing. The RB30 may be a bit agricultural but they're good strong motors with a lot of torque, which is good no matter your skill level. Plus, they're cheap to rebuild if you do break something
There's nothing wrong with CA18DET's BTW, that's just SR20 fanboi bullshit. Less aftermarket support, sure, but there's nearly no aftermarket support for the 2.6L Sigma motor and the country's fastest 4-cyl dragster/rail/whatever you call 'em runs one.

Threads on this site always seem to go to shit =/
I don't think you can list 1 to 50 in order of ebst drift cars.... A better list would be 50 good driftcars. Different cars obviously have different strong and weak points, as do drivers, so you can't say that one car above all others is the best.
If you've got alot of cash, an s15 or series 8 rx7 would be a good choice, but if ou're an apprentice or low on cash, then they obviously aren't the best....
nissan S13, s14, s15, r32, r33, r34, c33, c34, c35, a31 toyota ae86, ae71, ke70, a6X,x8x, x90, jzx100, jzx110, a70, jza80, z10, z20, z30 mazda fc, fd3s, fe, na, nb, nc.

Turbo MX5's were only available late in the NB series, ie 2nd gen. They were a Mazda Australia special edition, built when the standard MX5's landed, at Mazda Motorsport. There were two models, the "SE" and "SP" The SE is the more toned down version, and the SP is the more hardcore one. More power, bigger turbo....
There's nothing wrong with non turbo mx5's. They might be a bit underpowered, but so are n/a ae86's....
