how would a 4spd sequencial shifting ba ute go against a commy sedan with 3.8lt manual and 4.11 diff

What kind of race are you talking??? through the twisty stuff or over the standing 1/4???

i would say the ute in straight line, as the 4.0ltr twincam 6 is a torquier/more powerful engine and the commy sedan would possibly blase the tyres with a hard launch and those 4.1's

yeh mate i had a vs with manual conversion but my ba xt shits all over it for power. so yeh im saying the falcon will smoke the commi. just remember that the falcon has speed limiter, my wagon wont go over 180k unless slightly down hill the get 185k. my vs didnt hav a limiter.

he said the commodore had 4.11 gears though, so it'd probly jump it off the line and than get chased down by the ford ute after 100k's or so

the commo would probably fry the bags off the line "if they do the big clutch dump" giving the softer launching falcon the edge

being a v6 without alot of power wouldn't be to hard to get it off the line especially on a strip, i've got a vn 5sp with 4.11's and h/duty clutch it's not hard to launch, even with moderate rev's as soon as the clutch is out and your rolling along and stand on it, jumps 2-3 car lengths ahead of most with similar power and stock gears through 1st and 2nd. but a ba has nearly 30kw over the commodore in power, but the vt just might be able to manage to stay ahead but the ford would come home hard towards the end of the track, let us know what the real result is

my commos decked out with an ignition booster and an electric supercharger. sometimes when ive just got the oil changed and put some model fuel in the tank she does max doey in the gravel. FUCK YEAHHH. pillar guages are hoiiiips sikk ay

had 221 rwhp in my vs clubby , exhaust , good set of plugs and reset ecu

5 speed manual and 4.11's could get traction if you launch it right

in a v6 the commi will get you through 1-3 probly , 4.11's are way to steep for a 6
