Buy what ever you can afford to modify or repair when you do panel damage.

antonio
either or, they are both on the same playing field.. Now its upto you for what you like...

Im more of a Silvia fan myself so id take the 180.
mad48
if i could aford r32 it would be alot easyer to drift as it has more power but the 180 is a lot cheaper and if u want u could put a skyline engine if u want

180 sx
memmi87
Personally I own a Silvia... do not mind them, but would prefer the 180 to be honest...

but once again it all depends on how much money you can afford to be throwing at one with regards to the expensive sport of drifting..
Ryan41
get an s15 man...keep in mind alot more to fix when you wreck it!

I'd probably go for the 180 though if you want just a track car!

Depends how much money you have to repair either... 33 is a bit of a whale... but personally 34 would be nicer...

And they were referring to an R31 with RB25 and power steering not an r32... id love a nice clean 31 sleeper with a 25
Gfunkk
the r32 with rb20 - engine will take a lot more of a beating than a shitty CA
filo_balla

A 180 with an RB25 would be the go... or even a silvia with an RB25... pity they are quite a common conversion these days... RB26 would be good in theory... but its much cheaper to go RB25...

sil-1220kg

32-1320kg

33-1350-1360kg

34-1410kg

*note all figures are for the GTST/GTT skyrices

seems like the 34 brick is the whale of the bunch
boostaddict_4207
r32 be the better choice rb20's are hard to kill im not a fan of the ca's to weak s13 with a rb in it would be my preferred car..
33and 34's are both bricks to me drive a 32 then a 33 an u will feel the difference..
s15_jason
lol sif the dudes gonna do an rb conversion, he wants a cheap car.

180 FTW mate.

S13 Macpherson struts < R32 Double wishbone suspension.

Skyline will be eaiser to upgrade the engine more choice and it won't ruin the handling. R32 all the way.
GHOSTY
Macpherson strut is the best thing since sliced bread.

lol @ tryna find a set of camber arms for double wishbone setup mamoru.gif

Anyway, just get an SR S13, fuck putting an RB in it unless you're doing all the labour work yourself, and pick up the engine for nothing. RB20's are pretty shit, I'd gladly have an SR over an 20. 25's are nice, but for the amount of fucking around and work involved, unless you just lurve RB's, stick with an SR.
CA's are kinda cool in that 'cute' way.

At the end of the day make your car lighter by stripping aboslutely everything non-essential out of it, get a locker or 2 way, get some small rims, and it shall negate the lack of power a bit, you should be on your way smile.gif, oh yeah and make sure your hand brake works
oh yeah, find the happy medium between a clutch that can take a beating and one that isn't stornch enough it breaks your gearbox

on a side note I can't believe there are only 2 QR drift sessions a month??!!??!!!?! fkn hell, it's like I gotta learn everything again each time I go out there cos I forget it /exaggeration but you get the point

Oh yeah, if there is adivce i could give you, it would be to buy someone elses project, fuck spending 3 times the money on something you would be lucky to sell for a third for one day. There are plenty of good setup cars being sold off on secret drift ranging from $6k-$15k

lol to any one that thinks r33s dont slide well, i drift mine and id prefere it to the s13 or r32. its already rb25, big brakes and 5 stud all thats missing is the 2 way diff and stiff suspention
GHOSTY
any car can slide....................................noone said it couldn't

just look at D1, almost every car that's half decent has been used in competition just so people can be 'different'

at the end of the day, the s15 is prolly the most suited car for drift, that's why it's most widely used, and when it becomes cheaper over the next 5-10 years it will be the next 's13' etc

ps. this is my opinion based on 5mins experience, don't take it too seriously oopsie.gif

lol smile.gif

haha yer mate. picked up a head from a bloke on here. he had a ''drift car''. gave me the usual babble. 'drifting is not cheap' (i guess he said that because he earns under 20k a year) bla bla bla...then started to tell me to drift u need a s13, dont bother with other cars rolleyes.gif
lil_bobby_260
buy my R31 and drift it.

They were not that hard to find and now I have super camber lol.

Whatever you do suspension wise to an S13, if done to an R32 the results will be better... Been there and done that (still doing it) smile.gif

CA's are crap. They are a good motor. My old one copped heaps of abuse, street and drift abuse.... It was great. Went well, reliable.... That was in a silvia.
I currently have an r32 with an rb25 conversion... It's a fantastic drift car, has buttloads of torque, and makes good power on very low boost. It handles wll, but so did the silvia.
RB20's aren't strong. The one that resided in my car threw a rod out the block without too much smashing...
I'm actually selling the 32 for a reasonable price, and it already has the rb20 gone wink.gif
But seriously, buy whichever car YOU prefer. If you like the way the 190sx looks, buy it, if you like the way the R32 looks, buy it... Cause at the end of the day, they are both as cheap and easy as eachother to turn into reasonable drif car, so buy whichever you'd rather be looking at.
Also, first thing to when youg et one.... Big radiator and an oil cooler. reliability is the key too enjoying drifting.
