Yeah so the old man reckons someone came round to his place and hopped in one of my cars that ive had stored there for awhile started it then when the dogs barked at the bloke the old man went outside to see what was going on and the fella done a runna and hopped in a little hatchback fucking thing anyway this had me thinking.
Are they scoping it out to see if they can nick it, car is an old Commodore which i have no idea why they would want but anyway basically any old commodore key will fit the ignition. Car has no springs in it and wouldnt really move anywhere but still id rather hang onto it then some scum steal it on me. think ill prol just take the battery outta it.
Any other ideas would be appriciated, And please keep the shit comments about commodores to yourselves.
i only got a hk

spark plugs
anx34
pull the coil lead out that should stop anyone from driving it away on you
Ratwagon
Id prolly leave the spark plugs in as if its sitrting for a while untouched, moisture will sneak in and cause problems...
If its an early commodore, take out rotor and/or points...later car maybe look at something like fuel pump relay or fuse...
And tell the Old Man to leave the dogs loose at night...

Just drive it onto a piece of corrogated iron and ground a car battery onto that same sheet. If someone steps on it without proper shoes, zappimus maximus.

On second thoughts, do not do that, that is illegal and someone will probably die.
harraser
cut the negative wire from the coil to the dizzy and wire it to a toggle switch, hide it under dash or any where you like flick it one way it starts the other way it continuasly turns over but doesnt fire.
it stops power from coil to dizzy it will never spark, do this to all my cars.
car thieves once tried stealing my car, had the kill switch on and found it round corner with flat battery.
i pissed myself laughing all day dumb fuks

Pretty easy to bypass with a wire and a couple of alligator clips...20 second job really...
YOGI-SENSEI
insure it for 40 grand and leave it the way it is, tell ur old boy to stay in side next time and keep the dogs quiet
pro69htute
Just pull the rotor out of the dizzy. that"ll fuck em thumbsup.gif rolleyes.gif

um no.....

it won't zapp anyone,

you can not get a shock out of a 12 Car volt battery, you do realise you can hold the terminals on a car battery????

a bit of cut and paste reading for you

If 240 amps passes through any significant amount of a human body for any significant period of time, investigators may have to employ DNA analysis to determine who that stuff they found all over the place used to be. You really don't want to make yourself part of a 240 amp circuit. Actually, only about 30 milliamps (0.03 amps) across the human heart has a good chance of stopping it.

Where people go wrong, here, is by thinking that if you disconnect one battery lead in your car, hold the end of that lead in one hand, touch the battery terminal with the other hand, shout "Je ne regrette rien!", and then get a partner in scientific exploration to turn the ignition key, you'll be deader, faster, than someone who's already started his skydive when he discovers that the thing on his back actually contains some chocolate and a sleeping bag.

What will actually happen in the above situation - the car situation, not the skydiving one - is nothing.

The reason for this is that the human body has quite a lot of resistance of its own. If you've got a good contact - the terminals are big enough that the whole palm of each hand can touch them - then the resistance across your body is likely to be between about 2,000 and 50,000 ohms. The thinner and wetter your skin, the lower the resistance will be.

Even if your resistance is only 2000 ohms - which it probably won't be - that's enough to drop the circuit current to about 6mA. You may be able to feel that. You probably won't.

Since your resistance is actually likely to be much higher, the current through your body is likely to be trivially low. And since your body is part of the circuit, the current through the whole circuit will also be trivially low. Hence, the car will not start, and you will not die.

Yep i donno what old mate is on about i often test too see if batterie's have charge by getting a spanner(peice of metal) whatever and putting it on both termanal's if theres spark then the battery has charge if not then dont even bother thats what i get i spose from all those years of bush bashing car's lol

Dude, I wasn't intending it to be literal!!! I was just having a laugh - but thank you for the insight all the same unsure.gif

What about away to disable the vechile from rolling. As i have know of friends who have had there cars rolled out of there garage and on to a car trailer. Gone and never recovered. Is there away so that the cars wheels can not be moved, without removing the wheels. So that the only way to steal the car would be to drag it on to a flatbed towtruck with electric winch.

chain to the diff under the car padlocked to a very solid post.. keep it kinda hidden , so if they try to roll it away , it'll come to a dead stop rather quickly.. but usualy the chain makes noise and they realise something is askew before hilarity ensues
ampol
remove fuelpump relay/fuse no fuel no go
EUniqe
holy fuck thats a lot of ohms.

What about a 'car boot' like you see on some caravans. If its good enough for parking enforcers to stop ya from moving then i don't think a slime ball will get away with the car.
