When i bought it.

My new plumbed back system i made after getting defected for atmo bov and catch can

The screamer

New coil position with new coils. Leads went from 200m long to about 30cm..

On a cruise up here in cq.

Shitty engine bay pic

And after 9 months of trying to figure out why it was doing this. Diagnosing everything i could (and lots of other people) could think of...

I got the shits, pulled it apart and found this.... Also cracked in 3 places and scored the bore.
Cause - jet valve head. no 3 jet valve wasn't sealing. Oil getting into fuel mixture = fail. Thats what i've been told.. ?? (the sealing part)

So now the game plan..

Hoping to be back on the road in about 3 weeks.

Aaaand just so you guys know i don't do something half assed.. A pic of my el camino in all its glory biggrin.gif

Now has a dead auto.. I wonder why... rofl

Few pictures of what i've been up to the past week. As well as the old fried clutch. Didn't like 2nd gear launches sad.gif

New head as well as an AEM adjustable cam gear and some new arp studs
Ported intake and exhaust. Fresh everything. Double Valve Springs. Ralliart copy 35-70 70-35 cam. 3mm oversize exhaust valves.

Piston/Bore clearance on no.3 is too far gone. Can't sleeve just 1 cylinder. Cost $800 to sleeve all 4. I could get a new block and just bore that out.. Or...

$685 - Wiseco – K571M86 – 86.00 bore – 8.8 comp ratio - suit 100mm stroke
$435 - Eagle – H Beam connecting rods - CRS5900MA3D – 5.900 Length

+ a 4g64 100m stroke crank from somewhere... ?? Don't feel like paying $900 for one.

This is getting expensive.. Haha

But i won't need water/meth to reach my 400rwhp+ goal. Which also saves $800 not including setup and extra tuning time..

The way i see it, i'm even?? Lol. + I could use the extra torque from the bigger stroke/bore.

New clutch also just arrived. Thanks to doug @ NPC. Re-drilled my flywheel to fit a skyline size clutch. 5 phuck brass button ceramic. Should be fun to drive.

Anchor
Just ordered: To suit 1g 4g63 6 bolt crank. Stroker.

Wiseco K571M86 Forged Piston Kit.
Eagle CRS5900MA3D H Beam Rods.

$1200 later... Lol. Better make 400rwhp run.gif

Also picked up my new GT30 GCG Turbo Beanie biggrin.gif
Anchor
And since errbody likes pictures...

Hmm, it had crossed my mind. Bigger bolts to hold the cam gear on.. I was just going to use good quality ARP ones?? Just never heard of many people doing it is all.

Sent the exhaust manifold down to Competition Coatings.

$220 incl to coat it in that high temp black stuff. Fairly good price i thought, seeing as they said around 350 on the phone.

That's not bad, I'm getting a heap of stuff done at HPC tomorrow (intake manifold, catch can, all intake piping, rocker covers) and it's gonna cost me around $300 all up. I'd use Competition Coatings but I've heard their phone quotes are waaaay off the mark, but I guess it worked out in your favour here.
Keep the progress up, will love to see what this is like when it's finished.
Anchor
Bottom one is the 100mm Stroke Crank. Top is std 88mm Stroke biggrin.gif:D:D:D

And the exhaust manifold before i sent it away to get all prettied up smile.gif

Anchor
And yep, crank fits in, rotates on bearings without hitting anything. May have to bend piston oil squirters out of the way a little bit just to be safe...

Now just waiting for rods and pistons. Should be here soon. Left USA this time last week. Patience sucks dick run.gif
TheKhakiWarrior
Fuck....ultimate sleeper!

Warney - i see you reading. I've heard about your beast. One day we shall meet.... smile.gif

nice ride m8. was your impala white
Anchor
Yep
lo_rolla
I've done my fair share of these motors as an engine builder, always wondered about the 64 crank into the 63.
The motors are so similar it's not funny.
Any ways, good luck with the build.
Anchor
Thanks man. As an engine builder. Is there some literature (sp?) i can get from somewhere in regards to putting it all back together correctly?

Ie tensions, gaps, clearences etc etc.
lo_rolla
Since all your bits are after market all clearances and torque settings should be with the parts.
Have you got head studs?
Are your pistons 040"?
So your gonna need some machining done yeah? I really don't know what book we got all the tensions from. We just had them all printed out.
But I'll see if I can G some thing up.

Cos I'm not an engine builder no more.
Anchor
Yeh ARP head studs. And ye pistons 040" wiseco's.

Thanks man

New parts today yay

Exhaust manifold back from Competition Coatings. Awesome job for $240 incl freight to CQ. Got it done in the highest temp black stuff. Coulda got shiny shit cheaper, but wouldn't stay shiny long and not as good with heat.

New ACL Race Series Copper 1.6m Headgasket. And full gasket kit.

And a gates timing belt set. Good ones.

vs4eva
get urrr done jerry
PIG208
nice work jerry...... glad i sold her to someone so keen smile.gif
Anchor
So after a few 2am lengthy phonecalls to Titan Motorsports in the USA i'm getting better CP Pistons on priority freight this week for no extra cost..

They forgot to mention that wisecos wouldn't be available until mid to late August.. I need to be built by then !!
Hoon
Maaaannn....coulda got someone to grind down the welds on the exhaust to make it look a little nicer biggrin.gif Nah, good shit so far...keep it up.
mark1414
Pity its not in Brisbane anymore we need more sleepers

How much does this weigh out of interest?
Anchor
Yeah guess i coulda hoon, but i'm after performance with a little bit of looks. Those welds will be helping it hold up the turbo lol.. Not really tho.

I'll be in brisbane a fair bit with this.. biggrin.gif
Anchor
Fuck yer finally!!

Lol..

Been doin a bit of fiddly shit.. Waiting on engine shop to finish boring and balancing.... Hopefully pick it all up tomorrow lunchtime and start grinding the block to clearance the crank.

Then put the bottom end together biggrin.gif

Also got another set of shims put under the valvesprings so they meet the required specs for the cam. Had to make sure they wouldn't coil bind etc etc also. So should be all good for a 7500rpm limiter smile.gif (normally could rev higher, but stroker changes things..)
