I have an issue at the moment and i need an opinion.

I'm currently using a crappy Asus PCI-E wireless G network adapter in my PC. I am running a Linkysys WRT610N Dual Band Wireless-N router at home (which is awesome by the way, Click here to see it) I am looking to upgrade my adapter to a Wireless-N PCI Adapter with Dual-Band (click here for link) however i need to buy this from the USA as its not sold retail in australia. There is, however this available in aus which i can buy from U mart: Wireless-N USB Network Adapter with Dual-Band (click here for link)

My ultimate question is, what is better in terms of performance with USB network adapters compared to PCI?

If your not transferring data between one pc or laptop to another there isn't much point as far as I have seen. The fastest internet is 24mb/s as far as I am aware off and that's only half the speed of a Wireless G router.

Sorry I missed that point completely.

I'm streaming media from my PC to my PS3. In which i need a reliable and quality connection for as it is transcoding live.

What I need to know is what is the performance and reliability difference between PCI and USB....

I think you'll find the USB adaptor will be just as reliable as the PCI.

Wife used to work at a place that had 5 or 6 desktop PCs running cheap Netgear USB adaptors and a cheap Netgear router with no problems from a wireless point of view. The benefit of USB is if it stuffs up, you can just yank it out and put it back again as a hard reset. PCI requires a PC shut down.

I'd go with USB.

No, wait. I'd go with wiring the damn thing, cause I think wireless is arse for anything requiring a decent data throughput. But whatever.

wireless n is rated at 540 Mb/s usb is rated at 480 Mb/s . But the irony is that these speeds are theoretical. Your worrying about the wrong chaing in the link . The weakest chain is the wirless itself. Wirless is shit. Go ethernet. If you have to go wireless get pci.

If I could go ethernet I would, However concidering our house is already built and its a rotten pain in the arse to wire ethernet in a house already built, Wired isn't an option.

Cheers though krawler I'll pick up the linksys wusb600n
