Bought a GZ20 TT Soarer 1GGTE a couple of days ago. Without the AFM hooked up I read 7v from the plug (the one that goes into the afm) after hooking the afm up (taking the reading from the same 2 points) it's reads 2.5v at idle (which as far as I can tell it way to low) the car is very slow and when you try pushing it (ie throttle to the floor) all that happens is the engine revs and smoke comes out the back. I am wanting to test a new AFM first because the previous owner seems to think that is the most likely cause but finding one is a pain in the arse. I have heard I may be able to use an AFM from the 7MGE or 5MGE instead is this true? Does is sound like an AFM issue or am I just exposing my noob in a public place?

late reply but 1ggte and 3sgte afm's work in reverse so 4.9 ish volt's is near idle roughly and the lower you go the closer you get to fuel cut. not sure on the exact voltage's tho have never tested myself
