Here is a prime example of why I don't even bother using Microsoft's search engine, unless they can really REALLY get on par, nay... get BETTER results than google.
Live Search was a waste of time. Bing (apart from sounding like a Vietmanese tranny hooker) also fails.
Its 10:00pm on July 2nd. I'm part of a team, that's going to deliver a project for a very high profile company. If we don't succeed, it'll be Courier Mail type stuff. "Epic fail" will be the headline.
So I'm here, doing what I can, as fast as I can - to make sure my tasks of the project are complete before the deadline (which is suppose to be tomorrow afternoon), but we have until Monday (that's including UAT).
Right now, I'm building a HP 6730b laptop - fully automated, zero touch.
One of the components I need to install is the "HP Driveguard" driver - which detects shocks/jolts and parks the hard drive so it won't get damaged.
I wanted to know how to silently install it - since its not so much a driver, but a package from HP.
Now I like Microsoft. Bill Gates pays my bills. I'll give BING a try...cause I'm a supporter, and I fly the flag when I can.
I type into BING - silent install hp driveguard
The 10 results on the first page have NOTHING to do with what I'm looking for. Don't believe me - try it yourself. It gives me 10 useless links. In fact the very first link is about some stupid printer.
Using Bing, which is essential Live search - is like going back to an ex-gf because she had a boob job. Sure it looks pretty, and on face value you think "maybe this can work", but after a short time, you remember all the reasons you dumped her in the first place.
I then go to Google - and type in - silent install hp driveguard
First result, first link - EXACTLY what I was after.
Google 1. BING -5 (extra minus points for wasting my time)

Yea I was in the same situation, few searches I did with bing and couldnt find what I was after with the same keywords... if only I could remember what I was searching..
Also prefer googles interface, bings interface reminds me of one those ad sites you stumble across

yeah i think bing is more focused on every day searches by the majority of the population though. Sure bing is shit but its making some ground against google. What we would all benefit from is more competition. Try customize google plugin for firefox it rocks

Google - ahead of their time in their field of endeavour from the moment they started.
Bing - Microsoft trying to catch up in the same field of endeavour.
Hence the results you posted.

I would like to see your proof of "good ground" as well as it's "focus" towards everyday searches by the majority of the population.

Did you honestly even think for a second that Bing was every going to be better than Google??
Bing is more or less Microsoft Live with different graphics and url and you really can't polish a turd.. well you can but it will still be a pile of turd.
