Just a heads up guys
My 180 was broken into last night in my driveway and they rolled it out to the middle of the road and tried to start it but they couldnt so they left it there for me to find this morning.
My car was parked next to my parents bedroom so it seems nothing seems to stop them doing it.
Only thing that probably saved me from loosing my car was it was immobilized and has a steering wheel lock.
time for a new alarm i think.
Im just glad that i have still got it!!
Cheers Andy

Just a reminder...when cars are left anywhere, even in your driveway, all it takes is to fit a kill switch or take your engine relay out etc to save your ride.....glad he got it back

Yeah the pricks tried to take mine two or three nights ago i heard the alarm and ran down with a hockey stick but they were gone pretty fast haha Alarms are a must as is insurence so if they are smart enough to take it you get some small little compensation for your loss. i wait for the day someone finds them ties them up puts a post on here and they get destroyed haha

Yes actually it is. Lol... Lean that shit right back so you cant see the road. SO LONG as you look good in the process. don't worry about on coming traffic they'll move LOL. Turn that shitty stereo up as well... so you cant even hear that car coming at you at 100kph.
Get an immobilizer, steering lock and a kill switch located in a discreet location, and you'll find your car there when you wake up, or hopefully like the starter of this topic, somewhere close by.
You wont find who done it so get over it. Thats life. own a car some1 else wants, there gonna try take it. Thats the world we live in.
cheers, Mick.

ohh thanks, i forgot to turn the stezzza up. wild advise man awww yeah
Also, something that is very quick and easy to do is placing a switch between the +ve feed and the fuel pump. This simple mod saved cerbys sprinter from been taken twice. Even if you place the switch in the boot, it may just save your car.
I have one fitted, and even tho when the switch is flicked, the car will start, but it will burn the fuel out of the fuel rail and that will be it. Also means that the car cant be pursued at high speeds....
I did this to my old vl wagon and it saved it plenty of times. But the trouble is that if they want it, they will try and take, it, maybe not tonight, but maybe the next.
One week went like this;
- They tried to break into the wagon, and the alarm went off. So in response to that, we took the battery out (silly).
- Few nights later, they tired again, and as soon as they placed a battery in it, hahaha off went the alarm. And they ran for it, BUT we scored a new battery
we then placed a padlock on the gear shift (Auto VL) and didnt ever leave it on the street again. In the end, we worked it out to being the kids a few houses down, we knew it, they knew it, the police knew it, and nothing got done. I think they got an letter one day and it advised everyone in the street to what would happen if anyone was caught in the act of stealing certian cars out of the street. We didnt have to many problems after that.
That same wagon is now stolen (after i sold it), they couldn't get it to start in the driveway, so they rolled the house over, took the keys and drove away with the items they stole out of the house.. I never told them about the kill switch, so it was left on all the time.
I hate it when i read this sorta shit happening to others, i really do. I always stated that if they ever took my other car, and i saw them in it, i will be happy to drive my 4wd into the drives door.
Steering locks are cheap, lock nuts on your wheels are cheap, alarms are good, and if you do as much as you can, it might just save your car.
