looking at upgrading my lux to the supercharged version off the 3.8 ecotec, just need to know is it worth buying a whole new motor or just bolting the supercharger onto the ecotec already in it , if so could anyone tell me what i would have to change and where to get one up here
incubus
just buy a complete motor loom and ecu
pomin8r

GTS192
I'd still buy a super 6 complete ecu & engine rather than piss fart around trying to upgrade a ecotec.
Unless your going to heavily modify the engine, its just a whole lot easier.

yep n all super 6 ecu's run engine n 4l60e autos, so the ecu will have to be edited if you are planing on using a manual trans.
SIKUNIT
Turbo or V8.

Supercharged ecotec's are fucking ghey. Seriously. Their sluggish as fuck.
paulsautoelec
standard ecotec heads are diferent and you will need the ecu and loom ifusing a manual box u will need to source a manual ecu for it they are rare. you are better of buying a complete s/c engine package

thanks for your help guys, the ecotec already isn't to bad in the lux just wanted something more, only thing is i have a supra box in it at the moment, the 5 speed one .does anyone know where i can get a super 6 as its called from up here.
pomin8r

crate motors work out cheaper in the long run.

if it's all available as one big package i spose it would be easier, but if you have to run around to find ecu's and gbox and shiz hes prolly better off buying a off the shelf kit
