well COD4 MW was 2008 game of the year....

they failed with COD WAW personally but i think there back on track with COD MW2 & will most likely be 2009 game of the year...

Cod 4 (Infinity ward) makers didn't make Cod WAW..... Treyarch did. Although I dont mind Cod waw.

I dont see why people thought WAW "failed", its basically the same as MW, only 60 odd years in the past. It was a good game but the WWII card has been played too many times.

Looked alright, not much difference between the older MW just a lot more refinement like better ragdoll effect and the ice climbing was smooth. Hopefully the same theme is carried out throughout the game. Snow mobile part was pretty awesome, hopefully they scatter vehicles into other levels aswell, and possibly online if they execute it well enough.

One thing that is an absolute must for great online play would be a lobby system on consoles, im sick and tired for searching for an Australian game in COD4.

I aggre, the WWII theme has been over-used, this is kinda the reason people didn't really like WAW. There was alot of hype leading up to a pritty mediocre game IMO.

OP - Im hoping the online part of MW2 is not crap like COD4 and WAW. If i can only get into American servers i will possibly snap the disc.

But when you look at the CoD franchise as a whole, I personally think it a bit of a let down going back to WWII. Consider CoD, CoD II and CoD III are all WWII, not to mention the numerous expansions also.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing LAN matches on CoD IV, was good fun.

I found the earlier CoDs to be very boring. WWII is yawn now, and the levels felt a bit too structured, i like a bit of freedom with my FPSs. Missions were kinda boring too. Attack this, defend that, shoot gun from vehicle.

As long as it has a local search function like WaW then I'll be happy, Treyarch did an awesome job in that regard and I always get Aussie matches. Apparently MW2 will have a co-op mode with levels like mile high club so that should be pretty sweet.
