hello, this morning i went to turn my desktop computer on but the screen stayed black and came with no signal imput. i have asked a friend and they said my video card might be stuffed. he also said that there are two types to get and i was just wondering what they would be. i cant remember what the difference between them is and im going to order a new card but have to make sure im getting the right one.

dont worry about it. i had a look at the computer and there in black and white on the card it said AGP. sorry bout the post

If you know how, pull your card out and put it back in firmly, and make sure the cable to the monitor is plugged in nice and firm on both ends. It most likely is a broken gpu but best to check it over before you waste money

yea I'd say take out graphics card, If you got a shitty one lying around, stick that in..and see if it works. it MAY be your motherboard AGP slot, in that case you go buy a new GPU and it turns out its the motherboard
ask your friend if he can put his one in yours.
Also for future, you can use a program called CPU-Z(www.cpuid.com) it will give you details about the motherboard, like ram type(ddr2, etc) and Graphics card type. AGP or PCI-E.

is the computer booting at all? i would check to make sure that its turning on first before lookin at videocards.
