John.
I've decided to get a new laptop as my current one is around 12 months old, and the fact that I'm going to Japan I can't take my recently built desktop with me.

Basically, I've always used windows based PC's and have always enjoyed having a play around on Mac computers when I've had the chance, I have the following questions for a Macbook owner/enthusiast.

  • Is the OS easy to use?
  • Problems, if they occur, are the easily to fix from someone without knowledge of the OS?
  • Can I install 'acquired' programs using 'cracks' as I could if I chose to on a Windows based PC?
  • What model would you recommend?.. I don't want something overly huge as I will be carrying it alot. But I do require a little extra storage size.

Thanks guys!..
Chris
-OS is easy to use
-Heard that if problems do occur, they're pretty difficult to fix
-Torrents are available, check out Pirates Bay Top 100 applications for Macs
-No idea, would say the cheapest one but oopsie.gif

BTW No games.

Thanks mate!.. I rarely play games on my computer, I have an 'Xbawkz Free Suxty' for that!.

Price isn't really an issue.

It also obviously requires Wi-Fi, which I think is standard in most computers these days, if not all.

If you go Mac shopping, be sure to compare the Mac to brands like Asus of a similiar price to compare your PC .vs. Mac options.

For some reason it annoys me that people look at a $899 Dell laptop, and say its crap... then go and buy a $2100 Mac. Lets compare apples with Apples wink.gif

Easy OS, plenty of pirated apps.... but hardware problems are gonna hurt. Its not as easy as ducking into the local umart and buying it off the shelf. Its almost always a case of sending it into a Mac store for repairs. Which sucks, they might find your porn collcetion ohmy.gif

Thanks TRK!
